They got a sack of footballs for him…dumb move. They got back what they spent on him and he is very unlikely to play at all. Teams don't seem to buy into BS preseason stats anymore. With a whole new draft class of QBs coming in, it feels like NE is kinda getting something for him before the draft comes. I like Milton a lot and I disagree with the move, but I understand why they did it. Quote

They got about as close to zero as you can get. Quote

Mark Vader Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Posted yesterday at 03:37 PM Damn! I'd have traded one of our 6th rounders for this guy. Quote

He is 6'5 250 runs a 4.5 40 and has a rocket arm. Dallas probably should have just drafted him but if you can get him for a 5th round pick and he has already been through an NFL season, its not a bad move. There are far less talented kids who will be drafted in the 5th round this year and not make opening day squads. It didn’t even cost Dallas a 5th. They moved back 46 slots at the tail end of the draft…that’s it. Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted yesterday at 04:01 PM Posted yesterday at 04:01 PM Really stupid trade for the Pats. He could be a legit starter if given the chance. Why not keep him? Worth at least a 2nd IMO QB controversy in Dallas Quote
Buffalo716 Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM (edited) I think he's way overblown.. besides his actual measurements and physical prowess... There's a lot to be desired with his actual quarterbacking He was on college campus for 6 years at two different schools everybody knows his physical talent Cardale Jones had that too.. there's a reason why he went where he did and why he just got traded for what he got traded for 5 minutes ago, Warriorspikes51 said: Really stupid trade for the Pats. And he had one good game in a meaningless game versus the bills with backups would never happen lol He was on college campus for 6 years evaluators basically know what he is.. which is why he just went for what he did and why he went where he did in the draft He's not a Tom Brady story.. he's like closer to cardale Jones.. insane physical talent but he's never going to be a long-term starter if I had to bet Edited yesterday at 04:08 PM by Buffalo716 1 Quote

In the end, they shipped out a player the new staff isn't tied to. Shame for them they couldn't get more out of it. 1 Quote

If Josh goes down, the season's over ---this is true with nearly any true franchise QB on a playoff contender. I'd rather have a guy who has seen and read many Defenses in actual games if I had to choose. The Bills were actively trying to lose that last game where Milton "won". 1 Quote

Dont know if true, but makes sense. It’s a combination of Milton wanted to be the starter and maybe not the best qb room. Perhaps not best for the Pats to have 2 young guys wanting the job. The Bills have clear back ups that can help JA and get along with him as well as accepting the role. Milton and the Pats fans both overvalued him. They are in shock they basically got a 6th for him. Vrabel didn’t want him in the building simple as that. 19 minutes ago, mannc said: How much of a chance does Milton have to beat out Dak Prescott? Zero since Dak is on the books for $60M Quote

That is the only justification I see. 1 2 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Just read the reactions on Patsfan forums … think it’s fair to say that the trade return has left them a little disappointed….the 5th is a comp pick so not really much improvement on their original pick for him ,,,, Guess he sits behind Dak now … Quote

If Maye goes down, their season is likely over with either Dobbs or Milton, but at least Milton has upside potential and could develop into something. Dobbs gives you nothing that you couldn’t get from a street free agent like Mike White or some other bum. Quote
Charles Romes Posted yesterday at 05:17 PM Posted yesterday at 05:17 PM I’m surprised NE could not shop him for more, and more surprised the Giants or other NFC qb needy team did not join the bidding. Everyone knows the week 17 vanilla D game meant nothing. But when your arm is that strong, you can get away with so much more than your average developmental qb, so your ceiling is way harder. Milton’s arm is so strong he doesn’t have to let it go until he sees them wide open. That is rare. I see NE wanting to part ways, so Maye and the whole team knows who is the guy. I really thought they could get a fourth, maybe a third. Quote
