DeepPass Posted yesterday at 04:17 AM Posted yesterday at 04:17 AM I realize the new Highmark Stadium will be a work of art and architecturally beautiful. NFL fans will see Buffalo in a new light !! BUT - - 1. Will playing on 'real', heated grass cause slippery conditions for the players from late October until January in rain & snow? Can they use snow plows or snow blowers to remove snow accumulations without damaging the grass? Grass gets slippery when wet. Will these conditions change our style of play? 2. Will the new stadium décor and sophisticated interior atmosphere disrupt our "crazy" fans? Will the fan atmosphere be the same? I love the current crowd noise and 'antics' in the stands. I'm afraid it will change in the new stadium. 3. Will the Bills practice at the new stadium or continue using the field house and adjacent fields? This would limit grass damage at the new facility. 4. Will the new field layout change the wind advantage the Bills currently enjoy? We know the wind in the old stadium and how to play successfully with it both in our face or at our back. Please comment! Thank you. Quote

I'd assume they'll still use the field house the majority of the time? Don't they have an adjacent grass field to the fieldhouse that they could use? Or maybe they install some type of new "turf" in the fieldhouse that more resembles grass? Quote

They said they were going to keep using the field house and it will remain where it is. The OP asked that part of the question first, so I went with yes first. I could have said yes/no, since it was a compound question. Quote

Of course they will use their current fieldhouse and other practice facilities. Why wouldn't they? Quote

eee1776 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The grass field is heated underneath which should help with the slippery grass. Maybe. Quote

I am interested in the injury rate of players on the new field. I did some Googling and found that grass is not automatically better than turf. Highmark 2 is going to be a big fat depends... depends on the quality of the grass installation and the skills of the groundskeepers. The NFL fields with the two highest injury rates are grass, will Highmark 2 be better than that? chart source: https://cronkitenews.azpbs.org/2024/09/05/nfl-field-surface-dilemma-concern-2024-season/ 3 2 Quote

BuffaloBaumer Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago My only two questions on the tour were about upgrading bathrooms (obviously) and having more leg space in the seats...yes and yes. Other than that, they can do whatever the hell they want. Quote

OK we all agree on the answer, they will use the fieldhouse. My question came since the OP started the statement with: "Will the Bills practice at the new stadium" and you answered yes so I questioned that. So agree the correct answer should have been no/yes since he asked 2 opposite questions Quote
Doc Brown Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Anybody know if the seats will have cup holders? Quote

So, yes to continue using the field house and fields. Edited 16 hours ago by MJS 1 Quote

A third Highmark Stadium is being built in East Aurora. As East Aurora residents are (think) they are far superior to the rest of WNY, and must do better in everything, which include Pickleball courts, outside BBQ by restaurants in residential areas, and pot holes. (Yes, I am a East Aurora Resident. The East Auroraian Facebook page is hilarious!) 1 Quote
