DeepPass Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I realize the new Highmark Stadium will be a work of art and architecturally beautiful. NFL fans will see Buffalo in a new light !! BUT - - 1. Will playing on 'real', heated grass cause slippery conditions for the players from late October until January in rain & snow? Can they use snow plows or snow blowers to remove snow accumulations without damaging the grass? Grass gets slippery when wet. Will these conditions change our style of play? 2. Will the new stadium décor and sophisticated interior atmosphere disrupt our "crazy" fans? Will the fan atmosphere be the same? I love the current crowd noise and 'antics' in the stands. I'm afraid it will change in the new stadium. 3. Will the Bills practice at the new stadium or continue using the field house and adjacent fields? This would limit grass damage at the new facility. 4. Will the new field layout change the wind advantage the Bills currently enjoy? We know the wind in the old stadium and how to play successfully with it both in our face or at our back. Please comment! Thank you. Quote

I'd assume they'll still use the field house the majority of the time? Don't they have an adjacent grass field to the fieldhouse that they could use? Or maybe they install some type of new "turf" in the fieldhouse that more resembles grass? 1 Quote

eee1776 Posted Thursday at 02:23 PM Posted Thursday at 02:23 PM The grass field is heated underneath which should help with the slippery grass. Maybe. Quote

Expand I am interested in the injury rate of players on the new field. I did some Googling and found that grass is not automatically better than turf. Highmark 2 is going to be a big fat depends... depends on the quality of the grass installation and the skills of the groundskeepers. Expand A third Highmark Stadium is being built in East Aurora. As East Aurora residents are (think) they are far superior to the rest of WNY, and must do better in everything, which include Pickleball courts, outside BBQ by restaurants in residential areas, and pot holes. (Yes, I am a East Aurora Resident. The East Auroraian Facebook page is hilarious!) 1 Quote
