DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted yesterday at 07:52 PM Posted yesterday at 07:52 PM I don't think he's worth a roster spot even at a vet minimum contract. I'd rather take a chance on an unproven guy than give it to an aging vet that looked as cooked as Douglas did last season. 1 1 Quote

Benford and Taron are the only above average starters in the secondary. Need upgrades at safety, and the #2 CB position so Josh doesn’t have to put up 40+ to win against teams with a good offense. Slippery Rubber Mats Posted yesterday at 08:10 PM Posted yesterday at 08:10 PM I think we see Inghram as CB2 this year. I think he wins it in training camp. 1 1 Quote

Augie Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I think we all agree he should be welcome to stay in Buffalo. I’m just not sure if he can play CB for the Bills. Come for the game, stay for the wings! 2 Quote

Jamarcus Ingram is playing on a $7,500 guaranteed contract Elam has over 13million in guarantees They're not giving him 13 million without trying him 10,000 times Quote

Reports were he was always trying to learn and get better and as a first round pick he should have had the talent. Did Elam really struggle that much to get this defense? I think the talent is there Quote

I think the talent is there I think it was something else. He was constantly being smoked right out of his shoes especially by savy route runners. Calvin Ridley and even most recently Ju Ju Schuster. I mean getting turned around every which way. Good thing he's gone I've had enough of that guy lol Quote

BuffaloBillyG Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I wish we knew what the drop off was about. In the year we traded for him he was a ballhawk. Had multiple games where he forced multiple turnovers, won a PoY and got screwed out of another. At times he was the best player in the defense. Then last year it looked at times like he never saw a football field before that day. Even in a league where player performance sometimes erodes fast that was super quick. I mean, did he have some kind of injury we don't know about? Was it a philosophy change between what McDermott likes to call and how Babich called things last year? Did Monstars come down and steal his talent? Was it the quality of safety play behind him that exposed him a bit? Did age just catch him super fast? Could be a combination of things. In any event, if he's open to a low dollar prove it deal it at least gives the mirage of us retaining a starter from last year entering the draft and the appearance that we may not be as desperate at the position in the first round as we were. jahnyc Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago RD may be the best remaining veteran CB option for us given his familiarity with our defense and the lack of quality free agents still available. I have my doubts that a rookie CB would be more effective in the first year in our defense, so I am all for re-signing Douglas. I also don't think that Dane Jackson should be considered as a legitimate option for CB2. Hopefully, last year was an aberration for RD and he will have a better year, but I also understand that the inevitable decline due to age and other factors may have happened with him last season. 1 Quote

Ingram is not a starting caliber CB2 on a team that has championship aspirations. Those are his only career INTs. One was a tipped pass that ended up in his hands while his back was turned and the other was a feeble moon ball attempt by Tua to throw the ball OOB's. He's basically Hamlin. Solid depth, not starter material. 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Douglas looked like he lost half a step last year but he was still a fundamentally sound “starting caliber” corner. And this team desperately needs something at corner even if Douglas might not be the most exciting options he’s not likely to be expensive, he knows the system; and he is more than capable as a starter even if he’s far from elite. Grabbing Douglas before the draft opens the Bills up to not having any “glaring” holes and they can just draft BPA at any position of need rounds 1-4. Quote

Take a poll to see how many on the TBD would be content seeing Ingram as our starting CB2 on opening day. You may very well find yourself alone on this island. Maybe I'm wrong, but of course it's JMHO... Edited 1 hour ago by billsbackto81 Quote
