He was barely a good enough athlete before to flip his hips or stay low on his slide step and the calculated gambles he used to take have devolved into nothing more than guesses that he can no longer recover from. Everybody that knows what to look for can see it, which is why nobody in the NFL has offered him a contract and he's currently begging for the Bills to resign him. You can pretend you know what you're looking at and that everybody else doesn't, but you don't. Douglas is 6'2, 210. If we can get him the IV we have Poyer to get that dawg blood in him than it could be amazing. With his size he can still offer something in the big dime corner for certain downs in specific schemes. At 30 it'd be hard pressed to talk him into that or get him willing to sacrifice his body. But, if he could, he could surely play the small field in the middle to cover the 2TE or others. Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Look if he wants to come back on the cheap I will happily have him back to compete with a rookie, Jackson and Ingram Quote

I know he wasnt worse than Elam in his short body of work... then fine do it... but they need to find an upgrade to CB2 and he isnt it IMO... with his size could he back up TJ in nickle etc... I just dont know enough to speculate... but if they have some alternative use for him past CB2 I am open to that as well... but no dont pay him... Quote
ProcessTruster Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago he may be washed in the context of the coming increasing incidence of man coverage league wide (to force QB to hold the ball longer..) but: My guess is that Beane (like every other interested GM) will wait to see how the draft shakes out b4 coming to a conclusion on Douglas 2 Quote

bigK14094 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Some of this is about money. Douglas had a bigger contract, and he is a vet min guy now, but not wanting that to be the case. He would love to be back at his prior pay level. Not so much at vet min..... Quote
zow2 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Im ok with Rasul at the right price, but man I need this guy to stick his nose in there and be physical once in a while. Quote

So, out of 61 picks since 2017, 13 have started more than half of the games in a season. Out of those 13, 5 of them are from the 2017 and 2018 drafts. That means only 8 players since the 2019 draft have stared more than half of the games in a season. That's basically an average of one player per year. You can spin that one of three ways. You can say we drafted guys who weren't ready to play, you can say it's because we were already good at those positions and there was no need for a rookie to start, or it can be that McDermott will always lean on the guy with seniority for the sake of seniority over the guy just drafted. In varying instances, each of them has been true. Quote
DapperCam Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I do not want Douglas back because I feel like somehow he will end up as CB2. Because this coaching staff can’t help but lean on what is familiar to them. It’s the same reason I didn’t want Hamlin back. He’s a reasonable backup, but I just know he’s going to somehow be the starting free safety the majority of the season. If you could guarantee Douglas would only be depth/backup I would be okay with it. Quote
TBBills Fan Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I'd like a 3 way with ex wives #2 and #5, but we can't all get what we want Quote
bigduke6 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago zero issue with Douglas as a depth CB. if theres a right price, do it. knows the system, wants to be here, not always ez to replace. Quote
Bob Chandler's Hands Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago It would be nice if he stayed in Buffalo. Housing market has heated up some but I am sure he can find a nice place. But he should not be playing for the Bills. Quote

Mat68 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Imo Douglas comes back if Buffalo doesnt draft a cb early. He is waiting to see how it goes. Insurance for Buffalo to avoid another Elam pick. Quote
