NickelCity Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Definitely a fan of bringing him back for the right contract. I think he can be quite effective if he plays fewer snaps per season. 1 Quote

I didn’t listen to the presser… was he trying to double check with the press pool that what he was saying was still making sense after his 2 concussion week to end the season? 🤔 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago He was atrocious last year. I don't want him back. Unless there was some unknown injury, he fell off a cliff fast. That said, I'm betting sometime the week before the draft he's re-signed to the Beane special...1yr $2M deal. Quote

The people that don’t know how to watch the secondary play are giving the 🤮emoji. Hamlin constantly left Douglas and Benford on islands. They both played very well having the worst cover safety in the league behind them. And for all of the love Rapp gets, he’s not much better in coverage. Bring back Douglas, get rid of Hamlin and hopefully we get average play from Bishop and we’ll be much improved in the secondary Quote

Rasul Douglas' repeated problems in coverage last year had absolutely zero to do with anybody else on the field. 1 1 2 Quote

You’re wrong but it’s fine. When the new corner gets left on islands consistently with Hamlin behind, maybe then you all will see how atrocious our safety coverage is. Douglas, when healthy, still played above average CB imo Quote

It's a weird position people back then into but everyone doubles down. Both Douglas and Hamlin had problems last year. They're mutually exclusice. 1 Quote

Douglas, when healthy, still played above average CB imo You don't know enough about corner play to know how gawdawful his technique was last year (and frankly, has always been). He was barely a good enough athlete before to flip his hips or stay low on his slide step and the calculated gambles he used to take have devolved into nothing more than guesses that he can no longer recover from. Everybody that knows what to look for can see it, which is why nobody in the NFL has offered him a contract and he's currently begging for the Bills to resign him. You can pretend you know what you're looking at and that everybody else doesn't, but you don't. 1 2 Quote

Hamlin was the biggest problem with our secondary (but hey at least we get a hallmark movie in Buffalo so sure why not bring the guy back who wouldn’t make any other NFL teams roster), Rapp is a heat seeking moron who gets his teammates injured but our cornerbacks played well when healthy and that includes Douglas. I won’t back down from that regardless if you think I’m “pretending” Quote

Not exactly accurate- statistically you are correct but statistically I believe most rookies that start tend to be drafted in the first couple of rounds - this is more a reflection of bad draft fitting schemes- Torrence pretty much started out of the gate as did Tremaine Edmonds since he has been here the roster has been the most competitive I remember in a long time- kinda makes inexperience not as necessary and allows you to set players up for success in the long term Edited 21 hours ago by BlazinBill Quote

He fell off for sure but there was high performance before his body slowed down. I still think there's value - but only if he's not a permanent boundary starter Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I’m good with him. Honestly, for the mindset he has and ball skills I’d be cool with him transitioning to Safety. I’m a big, move CBs to S guy as their speed goes away. I think we have seen that work fine and time again and it always seems to be seamless. I’m fine with him coming back we just gotta also get a young guy in the hopper and the money needs to be sensible Quote

I am not sure I agree with the transition always being seamless. But I think it might be worth a stab with Douglas if he came cheap. I don't want him out on an island anymore....but as a center fielder... maybe. 1 Quote
