Don't rain on his parade According to the House of Lords There have been five years since 1900 when there was no King's/Queen's Speech. That does not take place at Christmas, and takes place in the House of Lords. It is where the Monarch sets out his or her Government's legislative priorities for the following year. The Royal Christmas Address (to give it the full title) began in 1932. 1 Quote

We were riding out a midwestern thunderstorm with tornado warnings in the basement and I had a few glasses of wine to pass the time. Of course, I meant 1915. I don't even know if the story about the Lusitania is true, but my mother's aunts told it all the time. I did look up the records and they made the crossing in August, 2015 on the St. Paul. And the story about the Queen's speech is my mother's and she was born in Rochester in 1947 so that part checks out. Back to football. I hope the Chiefs play yearly on Christmas. Them losing to the Raiders two years ago was by far the best gift I got that year. Edited 21 hours ago by Low Positive Quote

I thought you were still talking about the life in London. Quote
May Day 10 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago They shouldn't lock a team into a/the Christmas slot. I find it annoying that we have to watch the lions and cowboys every Thanksgiving in soulless venues. The Chiefs won't be good and interesting forever. Quote
section122 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago This is a very impractical idea. Christmas happens so late in the season that the teams will either be on short rest or very long rest. If KC gets to host each year then they are guaranteeing a rest/travel advantage for themselves in week 16 each year. I think competitively it is entirely unfair for the Chiefs. Which means it will likely happen lol. 1 Quote

The 25th of December can fall on any day of the week, and this is just one more stupid idea to make more money. 1 Quote

I remember during Covid the Steelers and Ravens played on Wed afternoon. But that was Covid forcing that which made it a different situation. 1 Quote

Gregg Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Chiefs are the favorite to play in Brazil week 1 vs the Chargers. It will be a Chargers "home" game. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=805d8afc350d9b3968e1d72f5272fdcd87f84c463ffaac180311fb1e3f7480fcJmltdHM9MTc0MzYzODQwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=39432f18-80d3-69d2-2993-3dda815f6841&psq=CHIEFS+VS+CHARGERS+IN+BRAZIL&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubXNuLmNvbS9lbi11cy9zcG9ydHMvbmZsL3JlcG9ydC1jaGllZnMtdG9wLWNob2ljZS10by1mYWNlLWNoYXJnZXJzLWluLWJyYXppbC13aWxsLWxpa2VseS1wbGF5LW9uLWNocmlzdG1hcy1hcy13ZWxsL2FyLUFBMUNhMkpsP29jaWQ9QmluZ05ld3NTZXJw&ntb=1 Quote
