Chiefs Request Christmas Game Yearly

I already don't wanna watch football in Christmas.

So by all means, please put the team I least enjoy watching on every Christmas day. Will make it that much easier for me to ignore the game and spend time with my family instead.

Considering there are teams argue the Cowboys and Lions shouldn't have all the Thanksgiving home games and the league should rotate it, but the league doesn't want to abandon these two cities as years ago, no one wanted to host these games, but they both agreed to it.  Can't imagine they'd want to start the same thing now with another city and years from now feel indebted to them.

I think these are an advantage the following week... they have to play (most times) on a short week... but so does the other team... and they likely have to travel. Then they get several extra days of rest that their next opponent doesnt have...   I would love to see the overall records of home teams playing on Christmas/Thanksgiving the following week... I know I am over thinking this, but I am always leary of playing teams that have extra rest...

Agree.  However, I might like the idea if it was Buffalo, instead.  The media could play Buffalo up as a Winter Wonderland every Christmas ... cameras at Holiday Valley showing skiers holding hot chocolates, ice skaters on the Buffalo Waterfront, snowball fights, Christmas lights & decorations in-and-around the city of Buffalo.

Of course, the Bills might prefer not to be tied to a day like that - don't know.  Why the Chiefs?  Should be the Bills!

This makes good business sense; Hallmark is located in Kansas City. Hallmark has a media production company which is very big into Christmas. They screen Christmas movies exclusively on all their channels beginning around Halloween, and running through to New Years. Chiefs were featured one of their Christmas movies last year; the Bills are supposed to be this year. It's a market the Chiefs could capture.

They are trying to leverage the playoff and Super Bowl success by landing a game with the potential for higher than average advertising revenue.   Family Christmas traditions trump football in my household.
