I think it is probably because the known about sexual assault allegations are not all there is on him. And based on the rumour mill that is the way it is trending.

Are you hearing other legal issues, or character concerns like work ethic and poor attitude? If it's the former I could see us overlooking it if our own background check checks out, if it's the latter he isn't an option for us. Walter Nolen apparently has character concerns too.

So we're in a weird position here where maybe the best two players available are also poor character fits, and another BPA is a TE which would be a poor investment. If I was removing those three players I'd go with Hairston out of the remaining options. Amos I'd be fine with, I feel like his upside is more limited than I'd like for a 1st rounder but probably a safe pick.

I think Nolan is the BPA, but not a great fit beside Ed.

I voted Amos as he’s a better fit.

I am torn between these 2 and leaning Amos for the exact same reason.

I really want a 1t at this pick but can't argue with plugging the other biggest hole ( see on the roster.

Are the allegations resolved, or is there possibility for future suspensions?

They never got further than the allegation stage. But there were two - one in high school, one at Virginia. And he ended up getting suspended by Virginia over it. Not a good look,  which is putting it lightly, but since there were no real charges I don't know how much you can use that against him as a prospect. Unless like Gunner said there is more that hasn't been revealed publicly.

princely?

I think Grant and Harmon will be gone.  So...Nolan  Princely  Porter  ( 2026 2nd for 3rd ) Thornton  then  Ivey at 109.

I won't argue that [Loveland] may be BPA based on what's sitting there right now, but I just can't realistically see it. We all know Beane doesn't REALLY draft BPA anyway, even if he gives lip service to it.

Best of all timelines: trade down with KC again! 30+109 for 31+95, do it Beane you know you wanna!

This should be Nolen who could be a game breaking DT. Excellent vs the run and is disruptive and can get after the passer

Also has a tremendous motor one of the best at the position

So long as character checks out he’s a slam dunk pick

Why is he not a great fit in your opinion?

I disagree btw

I am hearing the two sexual assault allegations we know about are not the only ones. There are people out there digging and they seem to think there are more women who have experienced similar patterns of behaviour.

Looking at PFN simulator, here are the candidates from their rankings that are still available in the TSW mock draft but not in the poll;

DB Benjamin Morrison Notre Dame #39

DT Tyleik Williams Ohio State #29

LB Carson Schwesigner UCLA #46

ED Nic Scourton Texas A&M #26

WR Jaylin Noel Iowa State #49

The cut off limit for the above was pick number 50 - they believe the needs for Buffalo are CB-DT-LB-Edge-WR

There are two further players in the top 40 not in the poll which are not in their top 5 needs;

TE Colston Loveland Michigan #18

DB Xavier Watts Notre Dame #38

They have Morrison higher than Amos. Williams above the already picked Grant.

I would vote for Scourton, with Amos as the 2nd choice.

Nolan's NFL comp is literally Ed Oliver. Bit undersized, short arms, high motor. And how much of TSW has been b*tching about Oliver since he's been drafted?

I think he and Ed are two very similar versions of the same guy. I loved Ed coming out and I love Nolen. I just don't know if them together is the ideal combination. I think Nolen can play the run, probably does it slightly better than Ed although Ed's run defense has always been better than you'd think reading this forum. It's more just both of them really want to penetrate getting either of them to go full gas in a game plan where they are told, don't worry about getting home - your job is just eat up two blockers and keep them engaged that's your 1/11th.... yea. Not sure I'd get 100% out of either of them asking them to do that anything more than occassionally.

I voted Amos (I just think he is perfect for our scheme) but if Scourton was on the list..... I'd have gone for him.

My view on Green is if he is there at #30, you should stay away. Because he only makes it that far is the off field stuff is bad (and I have spoken to one beat reporter this week, not Bills different market who said what we know at this point is tip of the iceberg).

Reminds me of Tre white but better/more willing tackler.

What Gunner said.

Back to the subject, if you have Nolen and Amos in a similar tier then it's obvious you take Amos because

1) Plays a position of greater draft value

2) Plays a position of greater roster need

3) Already have a very similar player in Nolen's projected role on the roster.

There are MANY 1T DT's which the Bills REALLY need available on Day 2. Collins, Caldwell, Biggers, and more. Especially if Beane trades down with KC to get ahold of pick #95

Alright I changed my vote to Ezeiruaku, Mike Green won't be on our board it sounds like. I personally would take Hairston out of these options. But Ezeiruaku seems to fit what this regime prioritizes which is character and coachability. I would be a bit underwhelmed by that pick but it feels right.
