Expand Based on the fact that the tariffs he claimed other countries were imposing which were debunked as well as him imposing tariffs on countries that have a positive trade balance with the states, it shows me that there is no actual plan. Expand I don't think the majority of voters took him seriously with tariffs because he was mostly all bark and no bite in that area in his first term. About a 10% drop in the stock market in a day in a half is not what they voted for. The only way he can attempt to put the toothpaste back in the tube the best he can is to cancel every tariff. Trump will never admit he was wrong so what you'll see is artificial trade agreements with individual countries, highlight any companies that make investments in America (ignoring the one's who lay off workers), and try and shift blame to the federal reserve. 1
