You don’t just get a sack of money like a cartoon. At least in New York, you sign a series of contracts and disclosure forms and then report spending on a monthly or quarterly basis.
BillsFanNC Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 From inflation is transitory, trust us and don't believe your lying eyes when you look at your grocery bill... To... Hang tough, it won't be easy...
Big Blitz Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I can’t think of anything more American than using policy that will encourage you to move your “American” company that has 130 factories employing over 400,000 people in Vietnam back to America You libs are an absolute mess Should immediately show how pro business you are by slashing all taxes and regulations in the state of New York

How expensive will it make the product?

May Day 10 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) What are the wages, working conditions, and quality of life of the 400,000 Vietnamese? That does not work here unless we crater human and workers rights domestically. Or pay out the nose for things we buy on the routine. It is not 1955. The world has moved on. I don't comment here, and have had a very open mind with 2nd term trump, and even agree with a few of the things thus far. This stuff is just madness though. We can't install suicide nets at factories/employee bunkers in US soil. Our strength needs to be innovation. Edited April 5 by May Day 10 1

The Frankish Reich Posted April 5 Posted April 5 2 minutes ago, Big Blitz said: How expensive are they now? I can’t afford their overpriced crap now. Buy another product. Isn't there something about freedom? The freedom to buy whatever the hell you want from whoever the hell wants to sell it to you? In other words, in my classical liberal (read: Locke, not Pelosi) philosophy there has to be a truly compelling basis for stopping that free exchange. And that's why it requires a true "national emergency," not some concocted foolish long-term drive to autarky.

BillsFanNC Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 The same people who tell us: Inflation is transitory. If you get the vaccine for a friggin respiratory virus then you won't get covid. Transwomen are women. The southern border is closed and only new laws passed by congress can fix it. Joe Biden is mentally fit. The mountains of evidence to the contrary are cheap fakes. Etc... And these same morons wonder why people aren't listening to them about tariff induced Armageddon? You made your own friggin bed. Hard pass on anything you're selling. 1

The Frankish Reich Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Preposterous that they're now talking about anti-tariff people as "libs." Yes, we are classical liberals, today's libertarians. Tariffs are, at their core, an affront to freedom. Anti-tariff = pro-freedom. Period. 1

There used to be quite a few here (when NC was DR) but I think they went to the other board. they're clutching their copies of "Atlas Shrugged" nervously. But happy to have them on our side for the issue of tariffs. Edited April 5 by Joe Ferguson forever 1
