They do their thing, we do ours. (Not to sound salty. Hit N Run has had members of our band up on stage jamming with them). It was tongue in cheek 😂 …. I’m a treasurer at a local fire company and I’ve hired those two bands numerous times for our beer tent, which is a big reason why I’m sick of them 😂. However, they have followings, and when you’re trying to fill a tent and make money, there isn’t any real alternatives. We’ve tried talented bands without followings, and it was a flop, and even bands like Strictly Hip failed to bring in the revenue we are after 1 Quote

A band like ours, although talented, won't bring in the money you need. I'd like to say at this point, but that's because I'm very proud of our band. And yes. Hit N Run and Nerds do have the following you're after. (Which means money). Have you considered some of the more popular country bands? (West of the Mark, 90 West) Quote

We play Million Miles Away by The Plimsouls, Drivers Seat by Sniff N The Tears, Turning Japanese by that band who's name I forget. We do everything from Bryan Adams and David Bowie to Depeche Mode and Talking Heads. That’s a cool repertoire, out of the ordinary. Are you guys CFNY fans from the 80s? 1 Quote

But I highly doubt we would do any of their songs. We talked about adding some Yacht Rock songs into our set list, but that idea faded. As what was talked about earlier in the thread, the bands people come to see and spend money at, are plying Bon Jovi, Journey, and the like. We're shifting more towards that, but not totally diving in. (Adding Cuts Like a Knife, 867-5309, Jessie's Girl, but also still doing Personal Jesus, Million Miles Away, Psycho Killer, and Dangerous Type). Quote

FWIW, Psycho Killer always gets a good reaction for the local cover bands here that bring in the money. 1 Quote

My 2nd wife was huge into CFNY and WBNY when I met her in the late ‘80’s. Went to Toronto for shows. Depeche Mode at the CNE was the pinnacle. Probably the best thing that came out of the marriage was her enlightening me to that music scene. 1 Quote

When I read your original message, I read it a CSNY - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. CFNY was an absolutely fantastic station. I'll have to talk to our rhythm guitarist to see if he listened to it back in the day. The rest of the guys are originally not from this area.
