Augie Posted Tuesday at 10:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:31 PM How often do you play? What kind of venues? And all the other obvious questions. Congrats! 1 Quote

We're on a break as our drummer is recovering from foot surgery. We're starting to get into the bigger bars, with built in crowds. We're playing 4 times in June. On average, 4 to 5 times a month during the summer months. 1 Quote

We play Million Miles Away by The Plimsouls, Drivers Seat by Sniff N The Tears, Turning Japanese by that band who's name I forget. We do everything from Bryan Adams and David Bowie to Depeche Mode and Talking Heads. 4 1 Quote

SinceThe70s Posted Tuesday at 11:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:52 PM So which Rush songs are in the rotation? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Limelight but probably not Didacts and Narpets or Xanadu. 1 Quote

We used to do Subdivisions, but the new drummer who also won Best Drummer in these very same rewards can't play anything technical (he has tremendous feel), so no Rush as of now. Quote

You oughta lobby for Camera Eye - lol. Seriously, congrats to you and your band. Good times! 1 Quote

Good times! I have all the keyboard patches for Camera Eye. But no way in hell I'm logging my 50 lb keyboard to gigs for one song. (Korg Nautilus are great keyboards, but notoriously heavy. I should have bought a Nord Stage 3). 1 Quote

We do everything from Bryan Adams and David Bowie to Depeche Mode and Talking Heads. Definitely an eclectic mix, and I love that. I love when a band puts its own spin on a song. I mean, that's how Rock and Roll began. People took old blues classics and transformed them. The Stones, Zeppelin, Clapton, Allman Bros, the list goes on. Sometimes, the original song doesn't even have to be good. Example. A song I haven't heard in decades popped up on my Youtube the other night. Its all I really remember from the movie. Movie makers in the early 90s took a god awful Pat Boone song and gave it to Jeff Beck. "Jeff see what you can do with this". (Smiling) "let me see what I can do." If nothing else, the kids loved it. Keep it going. Happy to hear about the awards. 1 Quote
US Egg Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Can you play "Smoke on The Water"? 🤪 ....it was a must for bands to play at high school dances to pump up us young teens in the early '70's. 1 Quote

You won't believe how many bands currently in Buffalo play that as well as other "standards" and get top dollar. We won't go there. 2 Quote

That song is just a bit out of the range for our keyboard/male lead singer. When we were learning it, we had a saying within the group. "***** Danny Elfman". Quote
