BuffaloBill Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I feel for all of the people forced into working. I like the idea that with so many religious holidays falling near this day that the U.S. gets “quiet” for at least a few days. People are too wrapped up in the idea that entertainment has to be available 24 X 7. It’s no wonder there is a loneliness “epidemic” in the U.S. - got out from in front of the tv and do something with others. 1 Quote
vtnatefootball11 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Can't believe all the complainers here that are "outraged" over this. The NFL is the most popular sport in America, and has one of the best products in the world. This is not debatable. Of course they are going to try and maximize value. If the Bills play (or heck even if they don't) every single one of you will still be watching, to act otherwise is ridiculous. Get over yourself and pay $10 for a month of streaming. Just thank the Lord we still have football for the time being. The only people I feel bad for are people that have to work on Christmas. 1 Quote

I have thought with primetime games in general because basically two decades worth of fans got conditioned to 1pm games 15 times a year they didn't realize if you are half way decent you play primetime and biggest nights semi regularly. LabattBlue Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Boohoo. If you don’t like it, or don’t have streaming services, watch something else, or enjoy the holiday. 1 Quote
Steptide Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Personally, I love it. Christmas day is THE MOST boring day of the year for me. This gives me something to watch all day and night. I get why people don't like it though 1 Quote

WotAGuy Posted April 1 Posted April 1 The problem is the Christmas games are too secular. They need to call it the Jesus Bowl, have the refs dressed as Magi and have the players jump into a manger after TDs. 3 1 Quote

HT02 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Sorry no football for me on Christmas. One day a year to spend with the family. Quote
Gregg Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Watching football for me on Christmas is not a problem as everyone in the family are football fans. Most are Jets fans which leads to some trash talking as I am a Bills fan. So, the game is always on the TV during the holidays. 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted April 1 Posted April 1 FitzMagic is one of the Amazon TNF guys, so don't be surprised if that's where the Bills land. Quote

I generally agree with you, but last Christmas was weird as empty nesters. No kids, no grandkids, we visited my mother at the nursing home then sat around the house. By Christmas afternoon my wife was fighting the urge to go up to her office and work. She lost. We were both bored and I could have watched a bunch of football. You get to an age where Christmas Day isn’t always on Dec 25th. You just do the best you can as families go in all different directions. I have zero complaints, in fact, it sort of extends the spirit of the season a bit. 1 Quote

I'd say it's more about a day that is set aside for my family. Me for instance. I'm not mad it's on. I'm just choosing my family over it (if it comes to it). Someone earlier in the thread said "Boohoo. If you don't like it don't watch". I'm not sure anyone is crying, just stating where priorities are. Not sure why that has to be crapped on. If my whole family were Bills fans, it would be different for sure. I'm sure we'd all watch and enjoy together. 2 Quote
