We finally have an elite talent on the offense outside of Josh and we treat em like ish. I’d be frustrated too if I was Cook. Why are the Bills allergic in surrounding Josh with elite players smh.

Leaving emotion out of it….

we should absolutely make calls and look to trade him if a good deal arises.

still have a dynamic player at the position (Henderson)

and perhaps the bonus pick can become 1T or CB2

IMO if Cook hadn’t said anything, he’d already have an extension around 11-12 mil per

RB’s can’t afford to stay quiet. The market is already against them.  Cook had a stellar season and should be awarded for it. Heck Terrell Bernard got an extension and in my opinion i think is very mediocre. So I can see why James Cook and his camp would be upset.

Dalvin screaming 20 mil!
RB market going higher than it has in a while, plus his agent being apparently clueless / inexperienced has led to this

why isn’t Cook on the field for most  3rd downs?

If Brandon Beane pulled a $12M done-deal off the table from our 2nd best offensive weapon over a couple of minor social media posts, then he deserves to be fired.

But he didnt and wouldnt.

I couldn’t disagree more. Beane has gone through our first contract players and extended all of them quietly and fairly, for the player and the team. If Cook wants to reset the market and break the Bills salary cap, that’s just too bad for him.

He isn't worth what he is asking for.

How can you say this?

You don't have a clue how Beane has been " treating" this person!

If they outlaw the tush push, a RB who can get in the end zone will become more valuable.

Or draft JJ Pegues and hand it off to him

You need to stop referring to Cook as elite.  He can’t even beat out a journeyman RB to get on the field on third downs.

Elite RBs aren’t liabilities on 3rd down and cede the field to journeyman.

James Cook is definitely elite. He was our 2nd best player on offense. He’s not Saquon or Henry but he took a huge burden off Josh’s shoulders this year and in my opinion is only going to get better.

Your post indicates you don’t know what “elite” means. Just say, “very good.”

I don’t know if you understand what elite means.

I mean you just said he’s not in the same class as actual elite RBs while trying to still say he is elite.

If Cook is elite then we should have no problem getting a 1st round pick for him…👍

On a side note…

If I were Beane, I would make it clear to Cook that we really want him in Buffalo, but that cap restrictions make it difficult paying him top dollar…

Therefore, as a show of good faith, if Cook doesn’t feel comfortable not getting what he wants, and can’t guarantee he won’t hold out, Beane should allow Cook to seek out a trade partner, who is willing (and able) to meet his financial requirements…

If Beane is comfortable with the compensation, he should allow Cook to move on, through a trade, so that he can make what he feels he deserves, and the Bills don’t have to live with the headache of not knowing if Cook will hold the team hostage or not…

No hard feelings, thank you for your service, and best of luck! 👍
