I think he is an absolute problem in the NFL. My ONLY concern is that he turns out to be Gesicki. But I think his floor is Hock (or like a year 2 LaPorta, in terms of production) at very worst. CNYfan Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM (edited) With the 14th selection in the 2025 TSW Virgil Mock Draft the Indianapolis Colts select Will Johnson CB Michigan. The Colts had some idea of Warren for their embattled young QB, or even TMac, but the rough grade on the 2nd best CB in the draft made this a rather easy selection. The Colts are a bit of a mess and had to go with a high value position here, which the second TE being mostly a pass catcher was not. The OT, Campbell and the WR TMac, were graded lower than the CB, Johnson such that the FO was unanimous regarding the selection. @Allen2Moulds and the Atlanta Falcons are on the clock. Yeah if it was me picking how I would draft, I certainly would have gone OT there. I just don't know that the Dolphins would make the safe "boring" pick. As I mentioned style over substance seems how they run the organization. It seems ridiculous that they haven't prioritized the oline with how fragile Tua is but I digress. Campbell's short arms are a serious issue but I think 13 is a great spot to stop the slide. He or Johnson would be a better pick for them imo. 2 Quote

Allen2Moulds Posted Tuesday at 08:28 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:28 PM With the 15th pick, the Atlanta Falcons select Mykell Williams, DE, Georgia @gonzo1105 is on the clock. The Falcons were one of the least effective teams rushing the passer last year and hope to give their front 4 a big boost with this draft pick. Williams is a powerful pass rusher with the length to get into blockers and the strength to push them aside. His hands are active, and he mixes in effective inside moves. He frequently rushes between the tackles where his length, active hands and quickness challenges interior offensive linemen. Williams sets the edge defending the run and makes quick work of tight ends. He has room on his frame to bulk up, but he is strong and fights to anchor when getting double-teamed. He showed great toughness playing most of the 2024 season with an ankle injury that hobbled him on tape and forced him to miss two games. 2 Quote

I don't think he will be. But I wouldn't be shocked. There are NFL teams who see him as a guard only. I actually don't love the fit for him with Miami. His lateral movement worries me as a tackle in a stretch zone style scheme. Quote

qwksilver Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM All, Apologies for missing my pick and not letting Virgil know. Life happens sometimes (work emergency, which never happens). I will make the 2nd round and 3rd round selections. FYI I had them going for OL but the TE is a nice start. 3 Quote

I'm not super high on him. I'm sure a lot are. He, to me, is just a measurables guy that got away with it in college. We'll see but I think he is a 1-2 year project. Hopefully he isn't a Burks but I can def. see it. 1 Quote

In fact, I think that's probably the actual pick in that spot. Especially with how much Carroll likes to lean on the run game. That's where my own bias came into play where I personally could not pull the trigger on a nongenerational RB that high. Once I decided to go with a weapon the options came down to TE (and they are good there) or WR. And as I said, I personally like other WRs better, but often it comes down to who fits what teams want to do best as to where and when they are picked. I see Emeka as a natural fit for that offense more than someone like Golden. Teams rate players different based on system all the time When you talk about where a player is rated and if it's a reach, remember, people largely base that off a generic scouting report not team specified due to system. One teams #1 WR may be another teams #4. Or vice versa. Many who talk "reach" base it off guys like Mayock, Jeremiah, and Kiper (and the rest)'s generic list and their mock drafts that are typically nowhere close to what plays out on draft day. And anyone who cares step outside the conventional "group think" about a prospect is bonkers. I get that, and nothing you said is really wrong…but I think it would be a pretty big surprise for him to be the first WR off the board inside the top 10 personally. He might be there when we pick 5 hours ago, Logic said: I think it COULD be seen as a small reach, but I don't think it would be as big a reach as Ferrel was. I liked what PFF -- who has Egbuka ranked as its 19th best prospect overall -- had to say: "There seems to be some draft fatigue with Egbuka, who has been talked about as an NFL prospect for three years. Don't fall for it. He's a high-floor, versatile and savvy receiver as a borderline WR1/WR2." The recent success of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and most importantly, Jaxson Smith-Njigba in the NFL shows that Ohio State wide receivers with great route running proficiency seem to translate pretty well (and pretty immediately) to the pro level. Granted, every prospect is different and you don't want to scout by the logo on the helmet, but still. Most importantly, perhaps Pete Carroll sees the success Geno Smith had with JSN last season and figures "this is the type of WR that Geno can really excel with" and goes and gets him a slot target machine and 3rd down mover with a similar skillset. I guess that’s fair, but I still would be surprised if he goes top 10 and is first one off the board personally. Don’t get me wrong, I like him, just highly doubt he’s a top 6 drafted player 2 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted Tuesday at 10:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:51 PM With the 16th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, The Arizona Cardinals Select: James Pearce Jr DE Tennessee GMs Take: I have a true first round grade on Pearce. In a draft that has very few difference makers, Pearce is an elite athlete, with good college production, and huge upside. I hear that his character concerns are overblown and the concern is more his slender build and hand usage. I’ll bet on his upside here. @HappyDays is now on the clock 3 Quote
HappyDays Posted Tuesday at 10:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:56 PM With the 17th pick the Cincinnati Bengals select Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona. That's right folks. The Bengals are building a dynasty on nothing but WRs. Defense? Unneccessary. Mike Brown will have to open his famously large checkbook to pay for a new scoreboard that can fit triple digits on the home side. Offensive line? Burrow's bones and ligaments will be considered optional with this cast of weapons. 1 5 1 Quote
