I'm not sure I agree there. Ferrel was seen as a late first / second round pick. Egbuka has been mocked across the board. He is probably the most talented WR in the draft with Tet being the most athletic. The recent interview of Tet saying he doesn't really watch football or film is concerning. Egbuka in the top 10 wouldn't surprise me one bit.

It should be noted that interview was from 2023 and not a recent thing.  Also he looks very distracted and is talking to some random podcast guy.

I won't disagree that it is concerning as this puts him in the football is a job camp that I think doesn't lend itself to top notch competitiveness and willingness to work that extra bit to be great.

Emeka isn't very likely to go top 10, this would be like when they took Clelin Ferrel 4th overall...and they don't have those kinds of people in their war room now.  I do very much think Jeanty is in play or someone in the trenches.  But I would be stunned if it was Emeka.  And I know its the "Raiders", but they got real people in charge now not Gruden and a mock drafter at GM like they did when they took Ferrel, who was such a reach Gruden said pre draft they were going to surprise some people at #4.

I think it COULD be seen as a small reach, but I don't think it would be as big a reach as Ferrel was.

I liked what PFF -- who has Egbuka ranked as its 19th best prospect overall -- had to say:

"There seems to be some draft fatigue with Egbuka, who has been talked about as an NFL prospect for three years. Don't fall for it. He's a high-floor, versatile and savvy receiver as a borderline WR1/WR2."

The recent success of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and most importantly, Jaxson Smith-Njigba in the NFL shows that Ohio State wide receivers with great route running proficiency seem to translate pretty well (and pretty immediately) to the pro level. Granted, every prospect is different and you don't want to scout by the logo on the helmet, but still.

Most importantly, perhaps Pete Carroll sees the success Geno Smith had with JSN last season and figures "this is the type of WR that Geno can really excel with" and goes and gets him a slot target machine and 3rd down mover with a similar skillset.

I love Egbuka as a floor player but he’s not going top 10. Right now if any WR is going there it’s Matthew Golden

Yea Egbuka has the safest floor of the top 4 receiver IMO. I think he is pretty safely a productive NFL slot / move receiver. The question on him was more a ceiling one - but I'm actually less worried about it than I was. I honestly think his style is so smooth and fluid your eyes kinda lie to you about how explosive he is at the same time.

Agree though, he isn't going top 10.

I agree.

I think Egbuka is just miles ahead as a football player. Tet has every measurable, obviously but so did Treylon Burks and that's kind of who Tet reminds me of. Was able to succeed in college due to his overwhelming size, height, speed but in the NFL, you need more than that.

I think if there is a surprise it’s Hampton going in the top 10.

If Vegas takes Jeanty I think Hampton to the Bears is plausible. I suppose I struggle to see it otherwise..... I think it would have to be Vegas and Chicago.

I wouldn't rule out the Saints here. If some things don't go their way and they are drafting for need, I could 100% see them taking Egbuka.

I'd be surprised. I think the Saints will draft trenches.

I'd be slightly surprised. I also think I'm higher on him than most. I think he's immediate impact like a JSN, I see quite a few similarities. I understand he was drafted later but given that skillset and his production in the league, I can see why saints or maybe even SF pulls the trigger there (although both have quite significant needs elsewhere, yes).

I think Denver is a possibility-  taking another UNC RB 35 overall 4 years ago may alter their thoughts- but Hampton would be awesome in Denver imo.

I can def see Denver, Chicago, and the Raiders picking players more about scheme fit with their new coaches than BPA.  On that alone, I could see RB's going higher than usual.

They definitely are. But I was talking top 10. Later first it is Denver and Washington IMO that are the obvious landing spots.

I could see both NE and Jax considering Jeanty how Hunter/Carter falls . Vrabel wants a big time back like Henry and helps Maye out, Coen an offensive coach , trying to help course correct Lawrence career. I know they are longer shots but I wouldn’t drop my jaw off the floor if either made that move

Dolphins pick is due at 2p EST.  I've had to make the last two missed picks, so I'm open to volunteers.

I'll make up for mine.

With the 13th Pick the Miami Dolphins select TE Tyler Warren from PSU.  It would make so much sense for the Dolphins to draft a tackle here.  Unfortunately they love style over substance.  Warren can be their Kittle and add even more threats to their offense.

I don't disagree with you on many of your points. Jeanty there wouldn't surprise me at all. In fact, I think that's probably the actual pick in that spot. Especially with how much Carroll likes to lean on the run game. That's where my own bias came into play where I personally could not pull the trigger on a nongenerational RB that high.

Once I decided to go with a weapon the options came down to TE (and they are good there) or WR. And as I said, I personally like other WRs better, but often it comes down to who fits what teams want to do best as to where and when they are picked. I see Emeka as a natural fit for that offense more than someone like Golden. Teams rate players different based on system all the time

When you talk about where a player is rated and if it's a reach, remember, people largely base that off a generic scouting report not team specified due to system. One teams #1 WR may be another teams #4. Or vice versa.

Many who talk "reach" base it off guys like Mayock, Jeremiah, and Kiper (and the rest)'s generic list and their mock drafts that are typically nowhere close to what plays out on draft day. And anyone who cares step outside the conventional "group think" about a prospect is bonkers.

Yes- and the dolphins drafted a TE over him.  I’m a huge fan of Warren, but 🤦🏻‍♂️ Campbell should be a lock to Miami if he’s there
