With the 99th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Football Giants select Kyle McCord QB, Syracuse.

Just makes sense - tho maybe a round early but I wanted to nab a QB here for this mock and this was the target with this pick.

Staying close to Syracuse.  Gets to work with Daboll - good Oline (we hope) to keep him upright.  Possibly a Top 3 WR in the league already.  A potential elite RB in Tracy.

Low risk high reward here.

With the 100th selection....in the 2025 NFL draft....the San Francisco 49ers

Jalen Rivers, OT, Miami

We like the young man's versatility. He played LT and LG during his time in Miami. He only allowed 1 sack and 7 hurries while protecting Cam Ward's blindside this past season. Standing at 6'6" with almost 35" arms, we like what we have to work with. He also moves well enough to get along in our offense. We see a young man we can possibly mold into a swing OT to replace Jaylon Moore, but at worst is a next man up at multiple positions on our OL.

With the 101st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select:  Quincy Riley, DB, Louisville

We are thrilled to see Quincy still here after we considered him earlier this round.  He brings elite ball skills and was the best DB on the field at the Sr. Bowl.  We love his potential at nickel to help bolster our 26th ranked pass D, but we also think, despite his size, he can play some outside as well.

@TOboy and the he Lions are now on the clock.

With the 102nd pick of the 2025 NFL draft the Detroit Lions are proud to select G Dylan Fairchild of the Georgia Bulldogs.

After addressing the d-line in rounds 1&2 (Harmon & Sawyer) Dan Campbell continues to address the trenches in round 3.

And gunner you know it is going to happen.

Problem is te is the call but there aren't any blue chippers.

The raiders last year got the steal of the draft but no qb to throw to him.

Thanks @Virgil!! This was great again. I actually enjoyed walking away hating the Bills draft 🤣🤣

100%. No offensive weapons?!?  Wtf. I can stomach a blue chipper or high success probability defensive line player in round 2... But not all 3 of those picks.

We have had ***** at defense for our picks for a while. The return on the top talent has not been there.

Thanks as ever to @Virgil for this..... v1.0 is in the books!

I was interested to look at what this would mean by my board if it was the real draft. So a few highlights....

Number of drafted players that are on my big board: 97/102

- three of the five that weren't were three of the last 4 guys taken - Fairchild (not watched), McCord (not watched sufficiently to grade, although I may yet as I haven't got deep into the QBs) and Rivers (watched a bit but didn't like what I saw gave indicative late day 3 grade).

- the other two were Clay Webb (not watched) and BJ Adams (watched a bit, indicative late day 3 grade).

Best five remaining by my big board:

1. Demetrius Knight, LB, South Carolina

2. Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas

3. Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State

4. CJ West, DT, Indiana

5. Zy Alexander, CB, LSU

Best value by my board of the 97 players I had graded:

Mason Taylor @section122 picked him at #77. He is my 50th ranked player.

Worst value by my board of the 97 players I had graded:

Vernon Broughton @TPS picked him at #88. He is my 137th ranked player.

Yay!  Do I win something?  😄

As I wrote after that pick, I was not happy with either of the last two picks. CJ West was my other option, but Broughton seemed to have more pass rush potential; but I'm a novice here.  I was really hamstrung by the no trade aspect. I was hoping Norman Lott would fall to 70; then I was hoping Walker would fall to 88. I ended up in both selections picking someone I had very little familiarity with, but I was trying to take care of their "needs".

As I mentioned, I think their optimal decision is to make some trades to meet their needs.  If Hunter and Graham are gone like in the scenario that happened here, then move back into a zone where they can take one of a handful of edge rushers in the mid-first, and with the extra second they can get both a CB and DT, both in the top 50 picks.  Alternatively, if one of those two are available, then grab one, and use their 2 third rounders to move back into the top 50.

What I've discovered in this exercise is they are in an excellent situation to have a great draft, and I will be paying attention to what they actually do.

Yeah we made it.

If Eric is open past 75 I'm 100% trying to move up to get him.  Too much of a pure outside receiver option to pass up.  Like Gabe Davis, plenty talented to be in the league as a #4 or #2.  Would be PISSED if he fell to 95 and the Chiefs get him

Haha. I know you said in your write up you were reaching. I'd just say they have Armstead who in their new 4-3 system is a 3T and they drafted Maason Smith last year in round two who is a 3T too. I think their need is more at 1T so I'd have gone West but you are right Broughton's pass rushing upside is higher.

Hey I got one!

CJ West would be a great pick for the Bills at the start of Round 4.  I wouldn't mind doubling up on the 1T spot but I like West as an option especially this late.

As for McCord I'm local to Syracuse and he is an interesting prospect.  He played very well at times but seems to have a back breaking int at the worst times.  He also had a Peterman game last year.  I've been trying to think of a comp for him and I think Ryan Fitzpatrick is a pretty good place to start.  Not the strongest arm but always willing to challenge a defense.  That said, he is the best passer of the football I have seen in Syracuse since I don't know when.
