Yes, for $39M in dead cap.  If they wait it's $62M.

They just signed the guy, and they want out of the contract!

What does that tell you?

That means hell no.

If the niners were smart they'd have done a move like Diggs to Buffalo or any number of these veteran WR who had a year or two left in their prime to get a golden draft pick.

Aiyuk to the Chiefs, Redskins, Falcons, or Broncos last year. Teams that needed a better veteran WR.

A lot of us wanted him last year because of our anemic WR core after trading Diggs and losing Davis.

He's not worth a sack of beans.

It would be, if he were a bonafide #1. He's more of a top end #2, imo. I'm not sure he's an upgrade over Diggs even considering age.

I don’t know if I agree or not.  He has been more of 1A, but it reminds me of Diggs w Theilen, where once he was THE guy, he became the Alpha dog.  Will he be that? I don’t know and if he’s in SF again, he won’t be getting enough looks to show it again.  Now either way you shape it, his contract is still good when you consider Higgins and Metcalf getting paid like they are and neither being any better than Ayiuk at any point.  Either he’s getting paid as a low end one or high end 2, but either way, it’s a perfectly acceptable deal.

Easy to say after an ACL and MCL injury.  He was coming off of a 1300 plus yard season with 7 TD's.

oh, i get it. he could be a #2 on our depth chart but his attitude or whatever the cloud is with him and his injury and his age i don't think he's the best direction.

also, if he had those stats here he would not have enough TD's for us - even though we run in the red zone.

@GunnerBill i know you disagreed, too.  I just don't know that he would be the best of fits for our team.

If he didn’t get hurt it’s a great contract. The guy is a first down machine. You can’t predict injuries

No, I disagree on how good he is (or was at least pre injury) I don't disagree on the fit for us right now. I said in my first post in the thread I like the player, like him quite a bit, but regrettably given the full circumstances at this stage I'd pass.

I’m actually kinda in on it.

His value can’t be high.

His contract won’t likely be super cost prohibitive. Easy to get out in 2026 if it was a disaster.

Is the bidding for Aiyuk starting at a third round pick? That’s Rasul Douglas price.

It only looks easy to get out because the bonus hasn't triggered. Once it has it is somewhat more difficult to get out.

Oh god this again.

The only thing more boring than all the talk about this average player is the faux outrage about the tush push from the attention whores in the nfl media.

I was never for Ayuk. He’s a #2. With San Francisco, his production developed as that. That ship has sailed until He turns the tide—because his team isn’t doing him any favors based on what they’re going through (modern day rebuild). Palmer is the better deal. I doubt Ayuk is even on the Bills radar at this point unless things change. Like the forever radar. And he complains about contacts.

4th and 6th for Aiyuk and a 3rd

And $22 Million don't forget that's a pretty high price tag 3 draft picks +++ 🤔 NAH ...

I can agree. Pre injury when he chose to show out he put on a helluva run. I don't think he's the same now, whether by choice of attitude, declining health, or something else.

Sure, is trade a 5th for aiyuk + 2nd.

You're paying someone to take a risk and the $$.

This is an Ossweiller trade.  But I don’t think there is even a way with the dead cap rules to trade away the cost anymore like in the old days.

QB purgatory is the worst fate in the NFL.

It sure is, I never understood why teams pay mediocre QBs so much money with no hope in hell that they will help the team progress, I understand that there is only ten or so good QBs in the league at any point in time but god do the over pay for those slouches,
