Hard to believe we got here but Buffalo is now a team people will take less to play on. Thank you Josh, Pegulas and McBeane

That's more a function of Beane offering all of his good draft picks early extensions. You will always get a player below their theoretical market value if you give them a contract one year before they hit FA. As a strategy it's hit and miss. Sometimes you wind up with an albatross like Knox's contract, but sometimes you end up with a massive steal like Spencer Brown's contract. I lean towards Benford's looking like a massive steal in two years.

Now, wait a season. Then maybe Cook.

Cook unlike Benford has taken negotiations publicly. The last guy who carried on like that got traded for a 2nd rounder this year. I’m not saying it will happen but Cook to LV or Dallas for a 2nd would not shock me 🤷🏻‍♂️.. strong RB draft. Gives Bills 3 2nd rounders one of which they use on a home run threat RB ? Call me crazy but?

There's a cap friendly approach. Bit of a gamble that your run game isn't going to suffer. But if you hit on the rookie RB you carve out some much needed cap space.

That puts him outside the top 10 highest paid CBs.

What an absolute steal. Credit to Beane.

And credit to CB, going from a 6th round pick to $76M three years later.

Great deal all around

That is a crazy good deal on an elite corner.  Especially seeing where impact defensive player contracts are going.  I’m shocked that number wasn’t closer to 4 years 100-110.  Absolutely mind blowing he got the deal that low

And then take Ashton Jeanty and use the rest of early day picks on defense.  Kid is going to be a monster.

I'd be shocked if Beane was willing to give Cook anywhere near what he wants.

What do you think he would give?

Near what he wants. I really do. I think the point being made is Shut up and I’ll pay you. Beane has knocked down EVERY contract with ease and let’s be honest, hometown discounts. All of them. What Bill has gotten away for big money??

There’s no way we want to go into OUR  BEST CHANCE at a Super Bowl of the Allen era (again.. for like the third time- 2022,,..) without Cook’s weaponry. He’s an asset on the field and that can’t be argued against. Of course we want him here. Look at our receivers..
