There’s clearly no room for it anywhere! Seems to me that penalizing the team is the wrong solution. I’d suggest a four game suspension without pay…or worse.

Stupid, punk-*ss, tough-guy gesture that is demeaning to women (yes, it's smelling fingers). Make a great play or TD, hand the ball to the ref, and celebrate with your teammates. Bills players don't do it cuz we don't draft players that do stuff like this. A reason I'm very proud to be a Bills fan

I always thought this gesture meant something to do with.....ummm....well.......something gross related to male/female private interactions.

Even if I were 45 years younger, in great shape and had crazy football skills (not true), I still wouldn't be able to play in the NFL with this rule.   I have year around allergies and my nose rarely stops running, especially when I engage in activity.  I can't take tissues onto the football field.  I either wipe or drip.

Can a player still pantomime picking his nose with a twisty wrist? 

 

Can a player still pretend to plug his nose with one hand and swipe away odor with the other in classic "pee-yew" fashion?

This has been going on since the late 80s - early 90s with the advent of gangster rap along with the glorification of the mafia and crime/heist movies. Quentin Tarantino, Scorsese, Depalma, etc. It’s really nothing new. I am young enough to still be somewhat in touch with current pop culture and the gang banging stuff is prevalent especially in Hip Hop. You never heard the phrase “Rappers want to be athletes and athletes want to be rappers?”

 

As far as the rule change, I kind of agree. I can’t stand taunting celebrations. I think it’s disrespectful. What happened to good sportsmanship? If the celebrations are in FUN like Stevie Johnson’s “Why so serious?” shirt or Joe Horn pulling out the cellphone then I am all for it. But some of them are flat out disrespectful like the throat cut, Tyreek Hill’s 👋, and standing over a player after a big hit.

Well, I could never play in the NFL cause I have a runny nose and I’m constantly wiping boogers out of my face. That sucks.

They'll probably make an exception similar to the one in baseball when on a cold night game they'll let the pitcher go to his mouth to blow on his hand.  Or some stupid sh*t like that.

I’m not advocating for it. I’m arguing against the leagues solution. The penalty should be levied against the PLAYER, not against the TEAM.
