dave mcbride Posted Wednesday at 12:04 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:04 AM For those who haven’t been following his injury, he is reportedly running at full speed (straight line) already. I gather he had the cleanest of ACL tears— no other damage to the adjacent parts of his knee. 1 1 2 Quote
JohnNord Posted Wednesday at 12:05 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:05 AM Pats fans are acting like they signed Diggs from 2021. Reality of the situation is that Diggs was on the decline. He was still good last season but after blowing his ACL it’s going to be tough. Also Im not convinced he’s suddenly going to be a great locker room leader. The way Patriots are acting reminds me of any time Buffalo signed a “name” veteran. Let’s them have fun… eventually the games will begin Quote
Mister Defense Posted Wednesday at 12:06 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:06 AM Just now, Low Positive said: They had mroe cap space than they knew what to do with and an owner who is demanding an immediate turn around. This was predictable. If Higgins had hit FA, the Pats would have paid him Jefferson money. i laughed when I read the line above, now in bold. As it appears that is literally true! Great news for us though, on a Tuesday night in March. I hope that he is their best wideout... Quote
RunTheBall Posted Wednesday at 12:07 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:07 AM I have no ill will towards Stef. He was a big help in the accelerated development of a raw Joshua F’n Allen. Yeah, he became a cancer so bad that Beane took a 31 million dead cap hit to get rid of him, but we actually got a 2nd which I thought was nuts. Now he goes to the Pat* with a bum wheel, takes a crap ton of their money, and who knows when he will be up to speed. Good for him. I don’t think he will be a cancer in NE, he just won’t live up to that contract and he will be gone after 2. It will be interesting to see how Drake develops. He looked good as a rookie but so did CJ Stroud. Now that teams have a year of tape on him they will take away what he likes to do. We will see how he responds. 1 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted Wednesday at 12:08 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:08 AM Have they lost their mind for a declining receiver on the wrong side of 30 coming off a torn ACL? That's absurd! 1 Quote

BigDingus Posted Wednesday at 12:10 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:10 AM That's actually a pretty good deal for them. Not a ton of guaranteed money, get a talented WR. Probably not so great for Maye though. Diggs is going to overpower him with his "desire to win" REAL quick 🤣 Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted Wednesday at 12:19 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:19 AM Lol...well so much for winning a SB Diggs...guess you shouldn't have crapped in your own yard. Allegedly his big issue here was he lost faith we could get over the hump. He was highly paid, and highly used, so money and use weren't the issue. In fact, he took less and a lesser role to get out of here and go to Houston really on essentially a one and done deal. Now he clearly prioritized money over contention to take this deal with NE. I mean he could have called up KC, Eagles, Balt, SF, Was, etc and offered himself on a good discount to catch on with a team with a much better chance to win over taking an over pay from NE...if he really wanted to win that bad. Just like how D-Hop was "all about contending" then takes the most money from a non-contending Titans team lol. And hey, its fine...take the money, nothing wrong with that, especially when its the last you are gonna get at this stage. But its just ironic because he had BOTH the money and contention here and it wasn't enough. So enjoy purgatory to end your career Diggs, at least you can buy more needless things now. 4 Quote

I would imagine that they sold him on a "team on the rise" that is just like when he was traded to the Bills. With that much money, it wouldn't take much to talk him into that. Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted Wednesday at 12:27 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:27 AM Man, this has got to make the Pats the favorite now on the AFC 2 Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted Wednesday at 12:28 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:28 AM 3 years, 69m for a WR who will turn 32 and is coming off an ACL tear is INSANE. I don't think he wanted to go there. So they had to make an offer that he couldn't refuse to make it happen. Still crazy. 1 Quote

Terrible move. He’s literally the most important teammate Josh had during his development. He wears out his welcome over time, but he’s always been a good teammate the first few years on a team. This is a good move for NE. 2 Quote

He throws a fit at Josh for not getting him the ball versus Cincinnati in 2022, then in 2023 when he gets an opportunity he drops it. Then he talks so much about his legacy and leaves Buffalo because he wants to win a Super Bowl only to sign with a rebuilding team that is probably a year or two away from getting to that level. He’ll be off NE by that time. At the end of the day, he took the money. DHop is a great example and I wouldn’t be shocked if Diggs tries to get on a contender after next season 1 Quote
