Every team has injuries.   Yes, ours were worse certain years but it's not an excuse I would use year after year.

One thing we might all agree on is since Miller's injury , Bills have been in great need of a game changer at edge ?

We've needed a consistent pass rusher since Mario Williams.. I guess one year of Lorenzo Alexander was also phenomenal

Von up until his Thanksgiving day injury was averaging a sack a game only playing 55% of snaps. He was a true game changer he just got hurt on a kind of freak play.

Well yeah but that was 10 games of 3 years

He still showed some flashes but we really got vintage von Miller up till that game

We consistently are without starters.. you can't expect to win playoff games without your best corner and your best safety .. it's not the excuse.. we lost.. I think we don't give up 32 with both of them

Our safeties were pretty weak all year and we were without our best one.. then Benford went down

Against a top two quarterback... When the Chiefs lost secondary help in the playoffs is when Gabe Davis broke in NFL playoff lol

And we all know we don't think that much of Gabe Davis.. he literally broke a playoff NFL record because he was getting guarded by backups

I mean come on with this. Have you attempted any relative comparison on the health of other teams in the postseason to make these statements? TwoBillsDrive legend is all this is.

Rous is one of Defenses better players.  He is stout against the run.  Hes young, and hes a play maker.  Sacks are a DLine unit stat.  Groot will be better with interior and edge pressure. Bosa, Larry O, Hoecht,  and draft will help up Roos sack total.  Great move Beane extending Roos!

It’s the game dude.

I don’t hate Cover1 for playing it, but I do hate that they are held up as some pillar of objective football analysis.

they are a bunch of bills fans first with a modicum of football knowledge. That’s all.

if you ever want a laugh, go watch their videos last year where they get so exasperated about how moving on from Diggs would make no sense and was impossible.

Were they really wrong about the Diggs situation? It cost the team 32M in cap space and a 3rd round pick to not be able to replace him.  The team rallied, but they were woefully undermanned at WR.

They probably had a special teams play ready to go like the Chargers did in 2023 against us.  It very easily could've taken 13 seconds off the clock depending on how many times they lateraled it.

or they just grab it and kneel down at the 30 and have 10-12 seconds to go and the exact same thing happens.

Our defensive coaching blunders (soft zones and off man coverage) and the players melting down/ not being talented enough two drives in a row (13s and overtime) is a far bigger problem and int he full 3 seasons following that game nothing has been improved. Instead, we're largely running it back with the same guys that couldn't get it done and giving them a far larger percentage of our cap than they previously commanded.

You said we were never one play away from winning a Chiefs playoff game and laugh at anyone who thinks we were.  I presented a plausable scenario where they were one play away.  Regardless of what you think of our coaching in the playoffs.  A special teams trying a trick play and then lateraling it out of desperation easily could take 13 seconds off the clock.  You don't have to admit you're wrong.  That's fine.

They were wrong because they said it was impossible.

Lo was a do everything exceptionally well player and Mario was killing it off the edge early on !

Wouldn't it be fun to have an Edge rusher who demanded attention from Coordinators again.

PS If we get the inside upgraded I feel the outside will look much better. Not allowing guards to help on the edge, because to busy helping against the D tackle would be a difference for sure.

Any scenario that requires a Bills opponent to throw up all over themselves in the most critical moment for us to win isn't really based in reality. As a drought survivor that played that game weekly for the better part of 20 years, I've come to grips with that not being the way Super Bowls are won. We've lost the thread quite a bit ont his one though.

I stand by my assertion that Groot is not a difference maker at all, and paying him difference maker money to stay puts our team further away from being a contender than had we let him walk away for nothing. Love the player, hate the contract. I'll be more than happy to eat a rack of humble pie if we somehow have a dominant d-line next year spearheaded by Groot and Joey Bosa, but it would be one of the most shocking things I could see happening to the roster. I think they'll be a usual B to B+ that looks great while the leaves are changing and looks lost and overmatched when the snow is on the ground.

You saying the Bills weren't one play away in any of the Chiefs losses isn't based in reality either.  Especially when you said you laughed at people who thought we were.  As for Rousseau, if your argument is we shouldn't have paid for an above average instead of elite DE than that's fine.  Two elite DE's are lethal and unfortunately it's hard to find one (yet alone two).  If you think we paid too much for him I vehemently disagree with you.  Paying $18.5m for five years is a steal for an above average player at the DE position.  He's the 18th highest DE at the position and he'll pry be in the 30's by the time his contract expires.  That's really good value.

The hard part is via draft or free agency finding an elite DE to line up opposite him.  There weren't any available this offseaon as the Browns were obviously desperate enough to throw $40m at Garrett.  Crosby wasn't leaving the Raiders and I doubt the Bengals would trade Henderson to a conference rival.  Bosa's worth the shot but if he's injured a lack of pass rush might easily happen again to hold this team back from a Super Bowl.
