Yes that is true, but merely being above the joke that was the Biden admin is not good enough. There was clearly a breach in security in this case and those responsible should pay the price. Whatever that might be.

Reporting I've heard is that a staffer entered the wrong number into the contact card of an authorized invitee.

That seems far more plausible than putting Jeffrey Friggin Goldberg into the chat purposely.

I'm sure it wasn't done purposely but it still happened. Makes us, the ones who support Trump, look foolish.

Fire the staffer and move on. Nothing at all could make Trump look more foolish than Brandon regime.

Here we go....I've got the "war plans"...trust me!

Fire the staffer if it actually was the staffer's fault.  Understand why they even have Signal on their machines and if appropriate keep it and set up / refine protocols to ensure this doesn't happen again; if it shouldn't be on the machines, get it off ASAP and figure out why it was there in the 1st place.  And when adding someone's info that will go into secure communications channels, for Christ's sake, VERIFY that the info is correct BEFORE sending classified/secret/etc. communications to that individual on the secure communication channel.

There should be repercussions for those directly responsible for this snafu.  Whether this was due to incompetence or maliciousness, there should be appropriate consequences.

And verify that Goldberg got these communications in the manner he claims.  I.e., verify that someone didn't try to verify that the number he has is the number they thought they were entering and that he didn't either directly or indirectly let the verifier believe it was the correct number.

Fortunately this seems to be a case of "no harm, no foul" and this is giving the administration an understanding that they need to be better with how they handle secure / sensitive information.  Internally, this needs to be treated as an opportunity to do better.

firstly, they should admit the information was classified and apologize to the CIA operatives family.  quit lying....,Tulsi Gabbard got quietly owned by Warner.  Patel is twitchy as a rabid rabbit.  The uniforms just look uncomfortable.  Sad state of our intelligence systems.

It's not that hard to move this beyond the current news cycle. You say it was a mistake, but that operational security was never compromised. You fire someone, it doesn't matter who. You say that you're reinforcing rules about authorized modes of communication when discussing national security issues.

But that would be a normal administration. Right now we're in Trump Admin Stage 1: Denial. There were no "war plans." Jeff Goldberg is a wacko leftist liar (which begs the question: why do top admin officials have him as a Signal contact? Signal is what you use to reporters, right?). Let's focus on the successful mission instead of criticizing tiny things like this. Of course we're already seeing Stage 2: Biden Was Worse.

Question: if nothing classified was going to be discussed, why even use Signal? You could just do a Zoom call (the inferior Microsoft Teams product is kind of the government default) or an old-fashioned open line conference call. So the fact that they went to "encrypted Signal" is telling in and of itself.

Not surprising. Trump could ***** in your open mouth and you’d thank him and ask for more.

Pales to a secretary of defense going awol twice and Afghanistan withdrawal.

Which again its important to note that there was absolutely no accountability for either of the above.

So if Trump fires a WH janitor over this there's more accountability.

Winning.

We are seeing their full on panic mode.  First is the army of bs alt right bloggers we so often see represented  here.  They start the lies.  Then White House spokesmen  amplify the lies.  trump denies any knowledge.  An enemy (Goldberg) is identified and attacked.  And blame is never assigned or admitted.

The guy they literally have on their speed dial (to use the old nomenclature)

President's Middle East advisor was on the call ... from Moscow. No security risk, it's encrypted!

Because many of our resident Trumpies seem to fit the profile - they don't read - I've found that it's best to always look for a Twitter link. So for their benefit (reading is hard!):

I gotta agree with ya Bill, if this happened during Bidens admin, I for one would be screaming incompetence at the very least. I believe an investigation in how this happened should start immediately and there should be repercussions. I don't like it but it needs to happen in order to keep our integrity.

Why would your stupid delusional Maga ass think I would listen to anything you have to say? Just put me on ignore like the other candy asses that can't deal with the truth. No loss to me.

It’s better than the other stuff they’re saying about you.  More bad stuff than anyone has ever heard.  Like, ever.
