Ask that question here and you will get:

Chiefs are dynasty

Injuries

Bad luck

You forgot one:

Chiefs are dynasty

Injuries

Bad luck

NFL/refs

Or you could go with the other side:

McD sucks (and I know for a fact that he can never win a SB)

Beane sucks

Defense sucks

No talent on the team besides Josh (i.e., everyone sucks but Josh)

Ok, I know I'm exaggerating, but that's what it feels like sometimes from some posters. To me, it's just more fun being a fan in the first category. To each his own, I guess.

Just to note, since 2020 (last 5 years):

-The Chiefs win percentage vs. the Bills is 54.5% (50% even since 2021, last 4 years). The Chiefs win percentage vs. the rest of the league over that span is 86.8%.

-The Bills are 4-5 vs. the Chiefs in that span. The combined point totals of each team in those 9 games is Chiefs 243 points; Bills 242 points.

-At the end of regulation in the last three playoff matchups with the Chiefs, K.C. had a combined 6 points more than the Bills (across 3 games). So we are literally talking about one kick, one play, one coin toss, one call, one bounce of the ball going the other way to change the outcomes of any of those games.

-The Chiefs appeared in 5 of the last 6 SBs, winning 3 (and don't discount the whole Taylor Swift marketing stuff).

-Also, did we not have injuries, bad luck, and bad refereeing at times/certain seasons? It's not like people are making those things up.

It's just hard for me to buy the idea that McD has been so severely out-coached (or he's the sole reason for our failures) or that we are so far inferior in talent to the other top teams when the margin is that razor-thin (and with the circumstances noted above added---inuries/bad luck/bad refs). Could we improve, get better, get another elite player or two, of course...but we actually have been good enough coaching- and personnel-wise to make a SB, it just hasn't happened. Not to mention that the Bills have been #1 in points scored, #3 in total yards, #1 in points allowed, #1 in TDs allowed, #1 in defensive takeaways, and #2 in total wins over the last 5 years. You don't do that with poor coaching, bad defense, and no talent, no matter how good your QB is (I know, I know...regular season).

Anyhow, as to the OP's post, I think everyone knows not to go to OBL for anything overly-critical or controversial about the team. As an owner, why would you have a show that talks ill of your own product? But, what OBL is good for, imo, is: 1. in-season recapping games and then later in the week prepping for the next game; 2. Right after free agency and the draft, and during training camp (recaps and interviews with new players, etc.); 3. Sometimes they have on good guests and often have player interviews (pre-season, in-season, or say after they signed a contract or whatever). I just pick and choose with OBL. Off-season OBL (not around FA, the draft, or training camp) can be a bit of a slog, so I rarely listen during those periods.

I don't care about all about the subject matter of this thread. I'm just waiting to see the over/under on when "Generic title" or whatever it's called appears, and the newb won't know what to do with themselves.

McDermott got outcoached by Reid.  Again.  The Ravens and Bills had more talent than the Chiefs.

I disagree with this take. The offense had the ball with 2 minutes left, 2 timeouts so how is that on McDermott? Maybe get Allen a WR who he can actually count on like every single team that was in the playoffs aside from the Bills. The defense sucked but they got 2 stops at the end and our offense sputtered out when we needed them most, that's what happens when Mack freaking Hollins is your go to WR imo.

To each their own, for sure and with respect. I absolutely LOVE Tasker. The man cannot get a full sentence out without tripping all over himself, but he loves the Bills, loves Cigars, and has some decent analysis every now and again. They entertain me and talk about my favorite team. When they start taking calls I start listening elsewhere, but when those two are chatting back and forth, for me, it’s great.

Also, when I tune in and hear Maddy Glab I immediately tune out. She is awful. Her voice is rough, her analysis is fluff, and she just doesn’t have the football knowledge to give the show what it needs.

Occasionally Chris Trappaso (spelling?) from Cover 1 is a guest host and he is very good as a fill-in.

Glab is not proper for that job. Her voice grates and dear god, the question is an essay. You can see players eyes. Need a pro woman sports? Jenna Contrill. Sorry, Glab, the Mrs Pegs is protecting you due to straight up nepotism and she’s not in a healthwise position to change.

reading all these posts, it seems that as much as you guys loath OBL, you are all watching/listening to it.

I like the segments with Cosell and

Orlovsky. Have to endure Glabs paragraph question attempting to prove she knows something and overcompensating.

I'm starting to really get annoyed with OBL of late:

Steve Tasker, Chris Brown, and Maddy Glab are the biggest butt-lickers I've ever heard.

If you ask them this question: If the Bills have the best offense, score the most points, the most efficient why don't they win the super bowl?

They are so biased it's pathetic... They say 1 bad thing about the Bills they're fired

What say you there?

The question starts with an "if" indicating some thought is going come at the end of the sentence.  It doesn't, so can you clarify what your point is here?

What is the missing thought, point of that question?

But yes, Tasker is almost a mess on there now that he has become so involved in promoting the Bills the last few years.  Last year, he was adamant in his defense of Dorsey even as it became glaringly obvious a change was needed.  Then, after that, he seemed to forget what his position was, praising the move.

Maddy is good, seems to work hard at what she does, but yeah, a homer.

Chris Brown is more objective, seems a little less focused on always trying to put the Bills in the best light.

Should've never been that close.  Reid completely out-coached McDermott/Babbich on offense.  That offense hadn't looked that good all season.  The Eagles shutting them down in the Super Bowl made it look even worse.   Brady and Allen not having a variation on the tush push may have cost us the game and Spags had them ready for it.  McDermott challenging on that Xavier Worthy "catch" despite Hamlin holding on that same play would've saved the team 10 yards on defense?  Wasted challenge.

I thought McDermott made the right calls on the two point conversion decision and the 4th down decisions.  I'll give him credit for that.  His decisions throughout the year impressed me when it comes to 4th down decisions.  A lot of head coaches with a defense background are usually stuck in their ways and McDermott has shown the ability to adapt with an always changing game.

Anything Bills newsworthy will make its way into here. No need to watch all the insufferables on tv.

TBD is my #1 source for all things Bills related.

They are employed by the Bills, what do you expect? Would you have the chops to say something particularly bad about your employer over the radio/social media, knowing it may get you canned?

Exactly.  The times I listen to the show, I just expect it to be a rara Bills.  I find although positive, the Jeremy show, and extra point when Sal’s the his can be a little more fair balanced.   At the end of the day, it’s a local sports radio show.  They won’t go the way of trashing the hand that feeds them.  If you’re not crazy about the station, get Sirius and listen to NFLR.

Brown is worse.  Sounds like he goes and hits a bag in the mens room each commercial break--guy's too wired.

The old axiom "defense wins championships"

Yeah, that has definitely been proven to be false over the last few years, hasn't it?

The Chiefs make huge changes in their defense, win the Super Bowl the next two years, despite a lesser offense, personnel.

The Eagles, over night, in one off season, create a new defense, with a  new coordinator, and immediately become the #1 NFL defense.  And win the Super Bowl the following year.

No way anyone can look at these two examples, over the last two years, and think defense is the key to a championship.
