You're having a French moment again. BTW, can you decipher Bills last on Korea?

I thought he only saw Star Wars once. Did he like it? Or was he always hung on Yoda? (one of those understanding eye to eye things)

Basically, he's saying that MacArthur was a crappy general because he advanced to the Yalu...fundamentally sound, though I'm not quite sure how he got "started" the Korean War from that (apparently Inchon was only practice before the real war started).

I don't think it had a thing to do with Star Wars, since that's a bad movie. Or good. Or at least he liked it. Or something. :P

Judging by the photos, he must be a master chef.

Hey, when you eat 16 oz. of pasta fried in a quarter-cup of butter and 3-4 eggs, marinated in pickle juice, you start to pack on the pounds.

And let's face it...if you're non-discriminating enough to eat THAT, you'll pretty much eat anything, which doesn't exactly promote a healthy weight...

I wish TracyLee was here, so that she could verify that all those ingredients can be bought with food stamps.

Oh, he's gonna live that down ever.  If you are ever being stalked by a lawn gnome, think back to this post.

He better be careful then that I don't don't accidently overlook him and run him over with my riding mower

This was from a guy whose services best Generals were a nutcase who started the Korean War because he didn't follow orders and stop, and the Supreme Commander who later became president even though he finished last in his class at West Point.  You expect him to know what a good general is?

You forgetting Black Jack? He did OK....

Hell, VA's nuts just for calling Dugout Doug a "great" general.

No, I said those in that service called him a great general. They also refer to Mister barely passed Eisenhower as a great one also.

The USMC will always have Chesty Puller.

True enough...and even then, not many in the Army thing MacArthur was all that great anymore.

Ike, though...so he barely passed West Point. So what? West Point makes officers, but it doesn't determine their success. And like it or not, Ike was the perfect general for the job he was given.

On a side note...did you know Nimitz was almost released from the service early on in his career for putting his destroyer aground? One's record at West Point, or even as a junior officer, does not determine the quality of one's generalship.

Darin's right. It does sound like a porn name.

And somehow, I think Chesty would appreciate that observation even as he was stomping my head into the ground for making it.
