He'd be a Top 10 selection without the medical. And his injury isn't expected to make him miss time in season. It could make him miss some of the offseason though. But we do have veteran options in White and Jackson that could hold the fort for a little while until he gets up to speed. And in the long term, you've brought a Top 10 type talent to the team. I don't think you should take a lesser talent bc they're available right away at Rookie Mini Camp and Training Camp as opposed to a guy of greater talent bc they might not be ready Week 1 of their Rookie season.

I'm ready to support whoever they pick 100%.

 

I watch college ball, but I don't know the players nearly as well as scouts who watch 100's of hours of film and breathe this stuff.  I have no choice but to trust what they & the Bills braintrust go w/.

Patrick Surtain 2.0, consensus top 10 pick pre injury and mind you not an injury that should affect his future. Benford and Johnson could be an epic duo imo👍

You would actually trade away to go get an injured player ?

As you might guess I am not keen on Hoping (injured now) to get an elite player for 5 years. Even more so trading away assets for calculated risk.

 Give me a starter with the 1st pick please

Yep.  The only thing that will make me mad is if they take criminals or red flag guys.  
 

nobody knows nothing about these guys no matter how many times the backwards hat YouTube crowd writes profiles of each player.

Me too. I can tell you about college QBs, RBs, and WRs, but only how they played against other college players. I can't pretend to know anything about how they project to the NFL. And I know nothing about college OL and DL unless I saw them make a big play. And sometimes those players don't project well to the next level (Jack Sawyer, e.g.).

His injury isn't expected to have him not ready by Week 1. The question is how much of the offseason does he miss and how will missed time in Training Camp (if that happens) effect his ability to start Week 1? Especially with a conservative with (most) Rookies coach like McDermott.

 

You're entitled to your opinion. But I think it's a severely flawed mindset to say you'd take a lesser player that can play right away as opposed to a consensus Top 10 talent that may or may not be ready by Week 1.

 

Johnson isn't a situation of a player that's expected to miss significant time in his Rookie year. He might just have to play a little catch up. This is the type of player we shouldn't be able to sniff. If you can get a potentially Elite talent in the 20's and have him under a Rookie deal for 4 years simply bc he's not 100% on Draft Day and may or may not be ready Week 1 - you jump at that opportunity, where we're picking.

Exactly, and without the injury we would never even have a sniff of him, again this is not some acl-mcl type deal. Gurandamnteed Bills have a first round grade on him!

My money is a tepid early draft and the trades will start in the twenties.   If the Bills trade out and into the second round hope they a third rounder.  This is not a flashy draft class but a nuts and bolts one. This year Beane will shine.

If Warren is there, I agree, they’ll take him.  I personally have him and Loveland in different tiers of players, but I don’t expect Warren to make it out of the top 20.  
 

harbaughs relationship with Loveland could be what it takes though.  
 

Trait Tart on a 1-4.5M contract and having no other DL worth a dam, I feel that the chargers have to address the DL in a big way.  They probably have the worst 3 man front in the nfl atm
