I'm Watching Bryan Broaddus on a podcast from this morning.  Its mostly cowboys related but he is tapped into the league and has great info.

 

anyway, He stated this morning that there is an injury issue with Alfred Collins and Derrick Harmon and they may slide now.

He says it at the 14 minute mark.

Going off 2023. 55 tkls 12.5 tfls  7.5 sacks  2 pbu  2nd team all SEC. Projected 3rd. NFL comp. Jordan Phillips. 6'7 331  34 1/4 arms. Detroit kid so cold shouldn't be a thing.  Sign JP til at least week 7 to whip him up. Don't need him to play 100% of snaps.

please no more of the Jordan Phillips experiment at DT other than maybe the Practice Squad.   Get powerful rookies who are hungry to get after it.

Deon was dominant in 2023 and played with a broken back in 2024.  Don't confuse lazy with very hurt

I was just saying since NFL.com comped him to JP , if we're gonna carry 5 maybe...whatever, I think this guy with the right system and culture will be a force on some interior Dline and a later 3rd would be a good pick for us especially if we don't double dip early.

 

IDK, watched the highlights on NFL.com and the guy could reach both ends of the line from the middle. lol

The character concerns we have heard about with Pearce, Nolen and Green all draft season won't go away.

 

On Green specifically a beat reporter who covers an NFC team that I am on occasional DM level terms with on twitter told me about 4 weeks ago the sexual assault allegations that are in the public domain are the "tip of the iceberg" and that there is a "worrying pattern of behaviour." I has since reached out to someone who is a front office NFL exec on a team that is not in a place in the first round where drafting Green was likely to have been on the table at any stage (regular readers might be able to work out who I'm on about) and he said he thought he'd be "off more boards than he was on" given what he had heard about his background. 

 

I'm at the stage with Green where I think if he makes it past the Falcons, Cardinals and Bengals at #15, #16 and #17 he will slide out of round 1. There are just so many pass rush needy teams early and if you are a team in the second half of round 1 even if he sticks out on your board you are going to be thinking "what do they all know that we don't."

Trading down though isn’t necessarily about acquiring more picks to me. It’s more about acquiring a more valuable pick like in the 3rd and then that allows the Bills to move around in the mid rounds for guys if they like if they choose. Right now I don’t think the Bills will move up in round 2 because they won’t want to give up a 4th unless they get an additional 3rd or 4th 

The only reason to move is to get their Guy(s). That could be up or down.

The closer we get to the draft, the more I feel that Beane will want to recoup a 3rd round pick by moving down from 30 into the 2nd round, likely trading with a team that wants to get back into the 1st for a QB.

 

The Giants at 34 seem perfect if they want to snag a QB and get the 5th year option. The trade Joe Buscaglia laid out in his Athletic article seems ideal (30 and 169 for 34 and 99).

I think something like this is the most likely scenario. However, I do think their is likely 1-2 guys they love in the 15-30 range and if they are available around 24ish range, I bet Beane takes a swing at moving up.

Spot on and the second one can come from any round after the 1st round lol.

Jones x 10 is what will change the defense for the better in many ways. Even if he is a two down or situational player. and that player is in this draft.

and yes...Harmon at 30 & Collins at 56 would be fantastic.  Really any combo of the top handful of DT's  with those picks is a big win to me

 Even if they only get 1 of your DTs early ,or especially if so ! Caldwell works very well for me.

 I don't see Beane thinking exactly quite like us lol. Because I do agree CB DE and WR should be on the brain in 1st four picks. In that order if possible.

But early on I was full on for two 1techs or two Big azzed DTs who would be on the field making plays in the rotation year one. I think they need to tweak that defense. And maybe a couple 4-3 looks early downs

No to cutting Jones , imo , he will not make it a whole year. He can mentor.

 if the Bolded becomes true ! I will owe you a beer.   I want Grant but respect all the Nolan fans. prolly go earlier though don't you feel nosejob ?
