Fair enough.

To me, that guy you're describing is probably Joshua Palmer.

I could be mistaken, but I think he's pretty elite in terms of getting open deep and catching the ball.

What I want is a gotta have it, game's on the line, convert this 3rd down or we go home, playmaking do-it-all receiver. Maybe Shakir is that guy. Maybe Coleman can become that guy. But as far as I can tell, we don't have that guy on the roster right now.

Maybe my thinking is just out of date and old fashioned, and maybe we're going full-on with the "everybody eats", diverse-skillsets approach now. But I can't help but continue to pine for a legitimate WR1, and right now, I don't see one on the roster.

Not this season ^ and yes we All want that guy !

I think KOK is onto the answer for this year. Is Palmer that guy ??

Drafting his doppelganger would still be in order then. just not doing in the 1st, or risk trading assets to chase and hopeful #1.

We have 3 needs on defense that out weigh our need for the Killer WR you trade the future away for.

Sure hope Palmer is that missing WR type 😇 and shows as much

I thought we were set at safety...

We can improve on Rapp, who is just ok as a starter in addition to be injury-prone.

Would love to see us get JJ Roberts but after his great pro day scoring close to the top in every drill for safety’s .. I think he was originally projected 3-4th round… But u can see him possibly moving up to the 2nd round. He is a great leader on the field and even better person..

Looks like we are taking a swing at a mid to late round WR which I’m fine with.

But ultimately we still lack a bonafide Alpha WR 1 which are usually found in round 1.

I pleaded to trade up for Brian Thomas or Odunze last year (knowing full well Harrison and Nabers were too far . Nabers was my #1 over Harrison )

But this year I don’t see an Alpha WR1 in this class. Maybe it’s Tet. Maybe Higgins but they aren’t sure bets like the other 4 I listed . This isn’t the year to go get a WR early.

J Smith in 2027 could go first overall. He’s that good. He would be a top 5 WR in the NFL and he’s not draft eligible for two more years

Go get that guy.

Interesting visit. He profiles as a big slot which doesn't seem to fit a need on our roster.

seems to be if you run fast and are projected on day 3 the Bills want to talk to you. Yea I haven’t watched much of him but the people I listen to have all called him a big slot.

Yet no report on Donte Thornton?? There must be something out there in the ether about him

I’m hoping we wait til closer to the draft and then our interest leaks.  He could be an immediate impactful player for us….if the coaching staff puts him out there

Rapp

Forrest

Bishop

Hamlin

is not an inspiring group....unless Forrest stays healthy and can play like he did a few years ago

I'd personally prefer to wait until Round 4 for Safety.....but it depends whose available of course

Yeah I’m just commenting on it since so many people hated the Watts draft pick we made in the mock draft and insisted we are set at safety. It’s clear we are looking for upgrades so I totally agree with you guys.

IMO Rapp is a replacement level starter. Bishop is interesting but a huge question mark. Forrest is interesting but a huge question mark as well and the other guys should be selling insurance. Upgrades are needed for sure.

He checks a lot of boxes! Instant fit. The question is value etc, but who knows with this draft? It seems that maybe it’s going to be an unconditional draft in which people plug holes.

but maybe he just isn’t a smiler

It's 25 degrees and snowing in mid April. I don't want to be here either.

Oh I want a legit #1 too... But I've given up on that for now.

I think Palmer can get behind Defenses, but he's definitely not the kind of WR I envision. Palmer is a 4.5 guy... He ran 4.52 at Indy... I'm talking about a guy who runs in the 4.3's that teams just have to respect... That's why I'm so high on guys like Dont'e Thornton and Jaylin Noel to the Bills in this Draft. I don't really care if they will develop into 1's or even 2's... I just want that element for this Offense to push us over the edge... Or so I hope... B-)

I know there's a contingent of people who say the Bills should spend all their most premium picks on defense, and the offense is just fine. Beane may well be one of those people.

But me? I'd be happy to see them spend their first pick on a receiver if one was there that warranted the pick. The DL class is deep enough that I think they could snag guys in rounds 2 and 4 that could help them immediately, with the remaining 2nd and another mid-to-late pick being spent on corners.

Count me among those who still think the Bills offense is a legitimate WR away from operating at maximum capacity (and who doesn't think that HOPING Joshua Palmer can be that guy is an adequate strategy).

I don't think Golden will even be on the board at 30 -- current betting odds have him being drafted ahead of Tet McMillan -- but if he is, that's a pick I'd be happy with.

Which WRs warrant the pick?  Golden?  Anyone else?  Tet?  Both likely gone by 30.  Burden?  Can he play outside full time?

If golden is there, take him.  That’s about it
