He definitely didn't have the season I thought he would have but the talent is still  really really good

And it's just dropping him to a slot where the bills could realistically draft him

Now this week does he match with the personalities the bills look for.. maybe not

I also don't personally know the kid so who knows how much or little of a diva he actually is

But we took keon Coleman 33.. I think burden is a better prospect for sure with a really good skill set

I see a little Sammy Watkins in him. Sammy had his moments more as a gadget than a traditional WR in college.

I have decided that he is my pick if he’s in striking distance of the Bills.

I think the Bills range will be right around where Bond goes.  I disagree on the WR thing. I think there is going to be some guys there and they might pull the trigger in round 2 but I think I’d still rather see DT, CB, DE with the first 3 picks then pivot and take WR at 109 or 132 because I think the strength of the WR class is in that range more so than round 2

What WRs do you think will be available at 56/62?  I agree, I'd rather them go DT, CB or DE but I think that might be an easy-needs-based decision because I don't think the WRs there will be enticing.  Of course, I'll admit that I don't know what "type" WR they are in the market for.  Are they going to continue trying to make Coleman the X?  I know they need a deep threat that can beat press and has enough speed/pattern skill to get behind the D.  I think for that role that they would prefer >= 6' height and probably 200lbs+.

Go to the Wide receiver Choo choo thread and watch the video of Donte Thornton. He has the build that you describe. I think he's a sleeper that played in a run oriented offense.

He has a lot of good traits... He's battle tested in the SEC

He has a good frame and functional athleticism

And let's be real it's not like Missouri's quarterback play is anything special.. it's very inconsistent

As long as it’s a hamstring and not a knee, hip or ankle I don’t think that this will cause him to slide very far.  His game is power and I think there is enough tape vs top competition to show he can play the role of a run stopping 1T.  I don’t think he was going to convince anyone that he has a ton of pass rush potential with his 40.

Ha ha.

Be fine by me if his stock dropped significantly (No offense to him )

We could grab him after Grant  .....lol

Being honestly naïve on the WRs , does he fit that boundary speed need ?

Seems like he has the majority of qualities a WR needs to succeed.

But is he the Missing piece Buffalo needs to finally round out the skill set ? At 30 , he needs to be. imho. I am not chasing WRs this year 😋

But can Brady use that to take the Offense another big step to a Dominating Offense and help us superbowl. I know its a silly question

But seriously , how much would this cat improve the Bills offense statistically under this Coaching scheme for 2025.

Find me the same in the 3rd 4th round

He has worked mostly from the slot.. but his ball tracking and ability to shift gears does have a solid projection for someone who can play on the outside

He spent most of his freshman season on the outside

My concern with a WR like him is he will always be a pure straight liner and it's hard to roster players like that who have such a limited skill set. Seemingly every year you get these day three WRs who are pure size and speed prospects, and fans always fall in love with them, but I can't remember the last one that amounted to anything. You'd think after 4 years of college he would have added more to his repertoire if he had it in him.

I like that he's a plucker. ala George Pickens

Do you mean the Michigan CB who hasn’t done any workouts/drills?  I agree that he is a good prospect, but for a CB not to run and do the jumps and agility drills It seems a bit of a red flag.  Could be he has a minor, but legitimate, injury but it could also be that he knows he won’t time well.  I would happily take him at 30 but I would be hard pressed to give up a lot (likely pick 62) to move to 18 without knowing how fast/explosive/agile he is.

Yes i mean that one for a couple of reasons. Firstly he has plenty of tape in some really big games against the most elite talent where he looks like everything you would want in a CB 1. Won't lie not sure why rumors have him slipping, perhaps it what you have alluded to but my premise for Beane to jump is this, Beane is seeing the CB market being reset and i believe that they want Benford in the fold so to make the math work you gotta have an opposite that is cost controlled. Remember there was a WR last year in the same position who refused to test, these two had some really good battles that are worth watching imo👍

To be a one trick pony downfield WR you need to be a generational athlete like DK Metcalf was coming out. Pickens has made it work too but he has an otherworldly combination of body control and hands. I don't see that with Thornton. He kind of reminds me of Bryan Edwards, same type of linear skill set with good but not generational contested catch ability. I remember Edwards was a popular prospect amongst Bills fans but he never did anything.

At any rate it probably is moot he should be top 10, been wrong before but the kids a STUD! Also i know the Bills have some interest due to the combine interview.

They said the same about DK Metcalf. One trick pony. Can't run route tree. Production at Ole Miss was poor. Tape don't lie.
