He won’t and Farmer, like Landon Jackson has said the Bills have met with him a ton, talks to him everyday. Farmer says he loves talking to the Bills and that he’s taking a 30 visit to Buffalo if I read correctly.

I don’t love it as an FSU fan because he never lived up to expectations but he could be a monster if he has the right mindset and lands in a good situation

When are these starting up? I have seen any reported yet

Not at Cuse pro day?!   Odd it’s so close.  Wax could be a nice UDFA.  Meeks is also an interesting late WR target.

Im sure they have someone there. A lot of mid round players this year at Cuse but not a lot of guys at need positions.

That would be a debacle.

I like the prospect but spending a 2nd on bishop and then a 1st on another safety the following year- while we have a solid safety in Rapp under contract for the next 2 years on a good deal would likely be a terrible allocation of assets.  If he became the elite of the elite of the position, he could change that I suppose.

CB in the first is my bet.

One thing I've noticed about Beane is if a draft is deep at a position, he's more likely to wait until later (3rd, 4th) to pull the trigger on that position. Probably the thought is take from the thinner position groups while they are still available and hope you can grab a 2nd round talent in round 4.

I get it in philosophy, but hate the passive attitude. I'm hopeful that this is the year they identify a player and then go get him. A guy like Grant. My biggest fear is we see Beane trade back and out of round 1 altogether this year.

Bottom line is that if the 2025 draft is deep in DL talent, and a team like the Bills has obvious needs at DT/NT, then that team can be judged by how well it fills NT in the first two days of the draft, especially. Rounds 4-7 are still super valid, of course...

Ya good call , I get it but he'll also be aggressive to get his guy at a reasonable price and has plenty of ammo to do so early in the draft

Exactly

I think Forrest was almost like a draft pick, young and was a he was a starter and solid until an injury and regime change apparently cost him

I'm sure he'll draft 1 at some point but day 1 or 2 would be pretty brutal

Then again,  S seems to be extremely important in McDs defense

This list says we met with Collins.

It is possible the first list I posted is incomplete though because I think they get 30 meetings at the Combine. The first list only has 24. There are 30 listed on this link. I will update the original post to include the ones I missed.

Not enough defensive backs on that list. They need to pick up the pace.

I would not mind them trading back from 30 up to about 10 spots later.  I think they can still get a CB, DE or DT there and I think still about the same grade wise as they will have at 30.  Interested in other’s opinions here.

The wrong WR was chosen though . Ladd was right there for the taking and we passed on him

Expand

Wholeheartedly disagree. To me, Ladd falls in EXACTLY the same category as Keon. Good player, but not the type we need on this offense.

Ladd put up nice numbers on an offense with little else to throw to. He likey wouldn't have seen that same volume here, especially being he played over 60% of his snaps from the slot and we have a log jam there.

Instead of "Coleman is slow" posts we would be seeing "Ladd isn't used enough" posts, even though our best WR currently is our main slot guy in Shakir. Again, Ladd is a nice player and fell into a perfect situation for himself with the Chargers. It would likely have been much different here.

Yes, he will make slight moves up. I guess I don't call jumping a few spots "aggressive". Or at least aggressive enough.

I'd love to see him get super aggressive and moved way up the board. For instance z if Kenneth Grant is their guy and he's sitting there at 12-15, go get him. Don't hem and haw and see if...well maybe he slips to 25 and we try and move up for the bare minimum.

Identity the guy you need and spend what it takes to get there.

I am not one who thinks the 40 time is the most important metric, but at CB I do think it matters some.  I wish Thomas were a smidge faster.

Just to be clear you're saying trade from 30 to 40ish? I do agree that they may find about the same grade wise from 30 to 40. Problem I have with that is between those 10 spots they are letting the other teams dictate to them who they end up with. That's how you end up with an Elam instead of McDuffie. Or a Kincaid instead of Addison. Or a Coleman over Brian Thomas.

I much rather see movement go the other direction this year. I think with the ammo they have this is the year the draft strategy should be "identify and attack".  Find that guy they feel can move the needle year 1 game 1. I use Kenneth Grant as an example here because that's "my guy". Let's say they pick him out as the top guy they want. Instead of sitting still hoping he falls to a spot the may be able to cheaply jump up 4-5 spots...go all in and get him. If they feel he's possibly gone by pick 15...give up what you need to to get to pick 12. Don't let him come off the board. Sometimes you gotta make the big bold move. I truly believe this is the year for it.

I understand your argument and you may be right, but as much as I love the success that McDermott and Beane have had overall, I don’t think I want Beane trading away pick 109 to move from 30 to 25/26.  He has made hay in the middle rounds and his early picks have been a bit hit and miss.

Pick 109 is the 7th pick of day 3 and there are often decent players still on the board early in that round.  I’d like to still have that pick for maybe a shot at a WR or maybe another CB (assuming that they pick a CB in round 1 or 2).  There might also be a big 1T candidate available then.

If I recall correctly (questionable for my aging mind), the Bills traded up for both Elam and Kincaid.  I’m not as down on Kincaid as some are, but I admit I was hoping for more impact.  On Elam, I can’t find any online scouting reports that suggested he was going to be a bust.  Busts happen, so I’d just as soon sit tight or move down and have more picks than to trade up - unless they are absolutely sure that who they are trading up for is really going to be good.

I am not sure that Grant is such a sure thing that I’d move up.  If he is available at 30, fine.  Just my view…
