Well I had no idea you approved of vouchers and would appreciate it if you kept that quiet because it makes your argument much smarter. I approve of vouchers because my public  school is better than the expensive private school literally down the street, everyone should be able to get a good education regardless of where they live in USA

On Thursday, President Trump signed a big, beautiful executive order directing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to take steps to permanently shut down the (unconstitutional) federal Department of Education (ED.) The final shutdown and elimination of this department will require Congress to act, but the executive can, in effect, reduce the ED to the leanest of skeleton crews in the meantime.

 

 

To that end, on Friday, President Trump announced that he is taking two major items out of the ED's portfolio: The handling of student loans, one of the soon-to-be-former ED's primary functions, will move to the Small Business Administration (SBA) and programs for disabled students will move to Health & Human Services (HHS.)

 

The change will happen, according to the president, "immediately."

It also funded the Center for American Progress, which fed more than 60 leaders and staff into the Biden administration, and the Human Rights Campaign, which demanded the administration implement a laundry list of LGBTQ+ priorities. (By my count, the Biden administration implemented 75% of HRC’s demands.)

 

The American Federation of Teachers gave $840,000 to Sixteen Thirty Fund from 2020 to 2023, $75,000 to the Center for American Progress in 2019 and $100,000 to Center for American Progress Action in 2023, among others.

In fact, our students were better educated at that time.

 

It's been all downhill since the 'Department of Education' came along. (i.e. The Department of Educational Bureaucracy.)

The DOE didn’t just wave a magic wand to fix everything, but it sure did put laws and systems in place that made sure kids with disabilities got the kind of education they deserved instead of being sidelined. They created a system where it's no longer acceptable to shove these kids into a corner or make them feel like their needs don’t matter. 

 

But we all know how MAGA feels about those disabilities.

We did worse in relation to every other country since the inception of the doe in regards to education metrics. How is the doe effective?
