Free Agent Lull.... are we done minus bit players or more to come?

Just interested in opinions... Are we done in FA , save roster fillers and training camp bodies... or is there another move or two that we make to improve the team... and if so who are you thinking might be it... Coop, Diggs, Tre, Douglas, Samuel et al....   I am not sure who... but I think I can see us doing another reasonable move or two ... no big signings... but waiting until some of these guys are twisting in the wind for a bit and bringing them in on 1 year deals on the cheap.... or at least below Market value...  like if Douglas sits out there thru the draft I can see bringing him back on a cheaper deal... to less of an extent Tre, Samuel would cost more.... as we need a corner...  Coop and Diggs maybe but not so much at least for what I would do... plenty of others out there... do we make a trade for a player at the draft... where are you all at...  interested in your thoughts...

I concur. The roster as  is means we are drafting a CB first 99.999999%.

I think they are pretty well done for now.  They are going to have to add a CB, a WR, and possibly others for camp bodies and backup after the draft.  What type of players will depend on who they draft, and particularly, on whether they are done negotiating with Benford and Cook.  They will need additional moves to fit those guys in as well.

Beane in his presser said he is tight against the cap, and I believe him.

I do think he is waiting for a vet CB like @Simonsaid, but he will have to push a lot of that cap into next year if it is a costly player.

After that I suspect it will only be a couple of vet minimum types until the draft.

 

Spotrac added another $1.5M to Josh's cap hit in LTBE incentives and it shows $3.9M under with still 6 player's contracts to be added.

He almost certainly has to restructure Dawkins and that will pretty much do it.

I think maybe a middling WR before the draft (and that will trigger the negative reactionaries) and depending on the draft, a CB afterwards. 

 

Hard "no" on Diggs. He burned that bridge by asking for a release or trade.

We need to add 24 players to get to the 90 man mark, we still have note worthy roles at TE3, CB2a, and NT2 to fill. 
 

I don't know how many needle movers we will see, but there will be additions.

I think we got that middling WR in shenault.  Aka, camp body.  I expect us to draft a WR somewhere along the lines-

The way I see it- Shakir, Palmer, Keon, Samuel are all locks.  Draftee, Shenault, shavers, hamler, Virgil and other battling for the 5th spot.  Maybe a 6th WR if one stands out on STs….but I doubt it

Bills have 67 on roster so 23 more.

Beane will probably draft at least 8 and add another 10 UDFAs minimum.

Probably another 5 vets or so.

There is always a big churn with the lower tiered players that cost nothing to switch out.

This is part of the reason having all those picks is valuable.  You can use them to maneuver - but I'd be shocked if a safety and a nickel with some size aren't priorities.  Same goes with another linebacker to replace spector and another option for post-milano WLB.

Jalen Walker pick 30? Also I could see Starks or Emmanwori, but then we'd have to depend on a later pick at CB.

Done. On to the draft and then when TC/preseason starts and teams start making cuts. Beane might sign someone for the practice squad or added depth.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more modest additions before the draft.

One year deal, vet minimum type guys. Maybe another addition on the DL due to the suspensions. Maybe a tight end for camp competition if Morris doesn't re-sign.

Beyond that, I think any remaining FA additions will come post draft.

Usually in the week leading up to the draft Beane signs a few guys to shore up rooms that need it for the draft so they aren't hard pressed heading in.

 

I expect the week or two before the draft we see an aging vet or two signed at CB (may be where we see White or Douglas signed), maybe a cheap DL or two for the rotation (Jefferson or Phillips type).

 

Other than that I believe the focus is on the draft now and some potential UDFA types they can bring in to fill out the roster for TC/rookie camps.

I think you are correct here.. makes sense to see who we pick and round out after that... plus I believe we get some cap relief somehow after June 1st potentially...
