Houston ruined what could have been a real Cinderella story. A true Underdog story. We'll just have to imagine. When will Duke ever catch a break? Quote
Simon Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Damn, they're really letting them play, aren't they? Awesome....... 1 Quote

We can sort of excuse FL because everybody's first contact with Houston's defense seems to look like this. I have no idea what is up with those 20lb bricks the Cougars are throwing around, though. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

And multiple guys were missing wildly like that! 1 Quote
Talley56 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Congrats Florida. TBH, I just felt, all game, that Florida was going to come back and pull it out. It just seemed like they had a run in them that was going to come at any moment and of course it did. I was sort of rooting for Houston but not overly disappointed UF won. 1 1 Quote

He'd left his feet on the aborted shot and given up his dribble. They probably would have called him for travelling if he'd grabbed it. 1 Quote

I knew Clayton would make some big shots at the end, and he did. Had that big 3, and two “and one’s” down the stretch. the thing that annoyed me though about Houston was their second half offensive sets. Those high ball screens and handoffs way out by half court were a total mess. They got away from what worked— just spread the floor and get it inside to your Bigs. Also, 21 on Houston (sharp) was a total train wreck all game. Then he made two colossal errors at the end. Tried too hard on an off night and played hero ball. 1 Quote

The announcer on the ESPN replayed called it live... https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/college-sports/florida-houston-ending-explained-why-emanuel-sharp-couldn-t-touch-the-ball-twice-on-final-play/ar-AA1CurDB Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 8 Posted April 8 "...Sharp knew the rule in that moment. If he touched the ball again, it would have been a traveling violation as a double-dribble. Would a turnover be better than letting the clock run out? It could have left the door open for Houston, but Sharp was hoping a teammate would pick up the ball. Instead, it was Florida's Alex Condon who got his hands on it. ..." Quote
Steptide Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I went to bed when Houston was up 12. Was surprised to see the close finish this morning. Great day for Florida fans. However, I couldn't help but think "see you all in the portal" 🙄 Quote

It's also only the second time tin NCAA Basketball history that all 4 top seeds made it to the Final Four. @Mikie2times I don't know how long you've been watching college basketball, but there have been far more upsets and closer games over the past 15-20 years in the tournament than there were in the 80's & 90's. it just turned out that this year the top seeds were playing better. Is that a travel or double dribble Either way it would have been a foul if he touched the ball 9 hours ago, PromoTheRobot said: Can anyone explain why the Houston player didn't try up pick up the loose ball at the end?
