Was not an armored guy, but 1stAD boys/girls in-theater used to call the main gun "Big Dog" or "Big Iron".

 

As in "when the Big Dog starts barking, you know you're in the sh*t".

I was once in an active-duty Cav unit.  I could have named my tank "Josh Allen" though that would have taken a bit of prescience since Josh wasn't born yet.
