ChevyVanMiller Posted Thursday at 09:48 PM Posted Thursday at 09:48 PM (edited) Swen Nater, Buffalo Braves center. When I was a kid I read in the Buffalo News that he had gotten married and was wearing his wedding ring laced into his sneakers during games. I brought binoculars to the next game and clearly saw the ring from my seats in the upper reds. Edited Thursday at 09:49 PM by ChevyVanMiller Quote

US Egg Posted Thursday at 11:31 PM Posted Thursday at 11:31 PM Years ago would watch Sabre practices in Wheatfield. Christian Ruutu could flip the puck up, catch it on his skate, quick flip it back up off his skate and catch it on his stick. Quote

Remember when he walked the wall after a catch in CF? Bo knows. Good times. 1 Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted Friday at 12:25 AM Posted Friday at 12:25 AM Gary Sheffield. That thing he did with the bat. Also, from the hated Red Sox, Nomar Garcioperra and his incessant adjusting of his batting gloves Quote
Another Fan Posted Friday at 12:43 AM Posted Friday at 12:43 AM (edited) Ryan Klesko- he was one of the few players I can remember that had a good deal of success vs Mariano Rivera. Even though there's a famous clip of Mariano breaking his bat 3 times in one at bat. I do remember him well after baseball starting testing for steroids this dude happened to look like he lost at least 30 lbs. He was a good hitter though Edited Friday at 12:48 AM by Another Fan Quote

SinceThe70s Posted Friday at 01:58 AM Posted Friday at 01:58 AM Bartolo Colon had a great end of career run with the Mets. His HR against Jamie Shields was epic but not as epic as this play. If you look at the slo mo replay it looks like he's got a sh!t eating grin as he's attempting the ridiculous. Good times. 1 Quote

(I think he used to also brush his teeth between innings too, and had about 100 other superstitions). Turk also has a fixation with the number 9. His contract was some along the lines of $1,999,999.99 instead of 2M 2 Quote

sherpa Posted Friday at 11:03 AM Posted Friday at 11:03 AM Years ago, I was doing a flight from Ft. Meyers Fl. through Raleigh and to Buffalo. When we got to Buffalo, I was at the door saying goodbye and Paul Maguire was leaving. I did not know he was on, but I recognized him and chatted for a minute or so. When he was gone, the no. 1 flight attendant told me he was really a nice guy. I asked her why she thought that and she told me that on the first flight from Ft. Meyers to Raleigh, there was a young mom who had a really upset toddler and the child was making a lot of noise, irritating the others around her in the first row of coach. When we landed at Raleigh, Maguire asked if there was room for her in first class and purchased an upgraded ticket to first for her. Evidently, the child slept the entire way to Buffalo. Just a nice guy. 1 Quote
