I'm Spartacus Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago If you have the chance, visit the hall of fame in Canton. For football aficionado's and history buffs, this place is a must see. Canton is a cool little town with many sports bars and hotels right near the venue. I also recommend getting the guided tour for an extra $10 - it is well worth it. Tons of Bills related stuff...was a little surprised. Jim Kelly led the way with his bust (his head, not chest!), video's, and other Kelly memorabilia. Easy drive from Buffalo...about 3_1/2 hours. Go Bills! 1 1 Quote
Gregg Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Haven't been yet but it is on my bucket list. Also, on my list are to see a game in Green Bay, and baseball games at Fenway and Wrigley. 1 Quote

I'm hoping that one day when the Bills finally win the Super Bowl that will be my first trip (hoping I don't have to wait long!) Quote
Sweats Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago This has always been on my bucket list, as well as the Rock and Roll HOF, however, with Canada boycotting US destinations presently, my future plans are in limbo, which is a real shame for us who like to travel to our southern neighbors. I'll eventually make it to Canton.........just can't say when just yet. 1 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Went in 07 and 09 for Thurman's, Bruce and Ralph's inductions. Def a bucket list item for any diehard football fan. I would recommend going for an induction weekend though as there is a lot more going on. For any WNYer's heading up that way you can even stop in Cleveland and check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the way to Canton Quote

Canton is only about a 45 minute drive from Cleveland. The house from A Christmas Story is also in Cleveland. Did a tour of that as well. It was my second time going to the Pro Football HOF. I'd been as a teenager. It's so much bigger and better than it was then. I also went to some really cool restaurants in Cleveland. The Melt, Happy Dog, and Great Lakes Brewing are musts if you're in that area. Edited 12 hours ago by holla83 2 Quote

Surprisingly It’s only a 4 hour drive from Buffalo. Quote

I'll eventually make it to Canton.........just can't say when just yet. The wife and I did a 3 day "weekend getaway" to Cleveland a little over 15 years ago to check out both places. We arrived at our hotel in Cleveland late Thursday evening so we hit the R&R HOF early Friday morning thinking it would only take a few hours to see everything of interest and then we'd head on to Canton afterwards and spend Friday night there but the R&R HOF is WAY bigger than we'd imagined it to be so we ended up spending the entire day there on Friday and we still didn't see everything. There were several areas we couldn't access as they were in the progress of changing the displays around for several groups which I've heard is a regular never ending process there. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant of the hotel we were staying at and our waiter overheard us talking about maybe checking out a Comedy Club that wasn't very far from the hotel and he told us the hotel provided free shuttle service to anywhere in the downtown area so we jumped on that opportunity and went to a comedy club (which was also something we both wanted to do.) By the time we got back to the hotel around 10:30 Friday evening there was a message from a family member notifying us there had been a death in the immediate family Thursday afternoon so we ended up heading back home Saturday morning instead and we never made it out of Cleveland. Maybe we'll make it to Canton this summer now that the Boss will also be joining me in retirement pretty soon? 3 Quote
loyal2dagame Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I went last summer. It was great. Been to hockey hof years ago. Doesn't compare. Football hof is the cat's meow. I plan on hitting up Cooperstown this summer. 4 Quote
GerstAusGosheim Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Took my Bills/Beatles obsessed 9yo to R&R and NFL HOF last summer. Awesome trip. Don Shula's restaurant was meh. So was the aquarium. Edited 7 hours ago by GerstAusGosheim 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I have been there a couple of times. My first visit, Walter Payton just happened to be there and I was a young kid who didn’t realize who he was at the time. Took a couple of minutes to talk to my grandparents, shook my hand, and talked to me for a minute. Still remember the interaction. When he passed he was one of the few celebrities I felt sorry for because of how nice he was to take the time out for my family. I went there as well as an adult when the Bills were in the hall of fame game 1 Quote

Bills got boat raced by the Pack when I went in 2010 but it's a great atmosphere and facility. Wrigley > Fenway but both worth a trip. 1 Quote
4th&long Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I went about 10 years ago, it was cool to see. I also went to the Baseball hof. That was cool to. Quote
SirAndrew Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I’ve planned to visit the Football Hall of Fame multiple times, but it hasn’t worked out yet. I’d be cool with spending a couple days in Canton. They also have the McKinley presidential library and museum. I’m a history guy, and it’s the nearest presidential library to WNY. I also like the concept of the Rock and Roll Hall, but I need to get over my negative perceptions before I visit. The amount of rappers, pop stars, and country stars inducted before highly influential bands that have sold millions of records is disappointing. They’re intentionally targeting a younger audience, as opposed to actual rock history. Quote

Went in with very low expectations thinking it was just Hard Rock Café without the hamburgers. Dang, was I wrong. Regardless of the inductees, and I agree with your point BTW, it's a great museum and I could have easily spent another three or four hours there. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. 2 Quote
