Anyone who committed assault or vandalism on January 6 deserved to be prosecuted.

Anyone who was let into the capital by security guards, damaged nothing and hurt nobody - they should not have been criminally charged.

Calling it an insurrection is just silly.  The people who did it weren't even armed, unless you count flag poles and pepper spray.

If people want to boycott Tesla because of Elon Musk's politics, then go right ahead.  They have every right.

If people want to set the vehicles on fire or cause property damage, they deserve to go to prison.

I agree with a lot of this, but you’ve left out an important piece of context.  J6 was deigned to disrupt the peaceful transition of power.  That’s an insurrection.

Elsewhere today you said you are not afflicted by TDS, yet you can’t seem to stop referring to him. Interesting.

How many times have I referred to him today?

Now this seems like a reasonable opinion to me. Thank you.

Yes. And since we are using this thread to hand wave and stratify the various levels of political violence that are more palatable than others, we can note that nothing was set ablaze at the Capitol on J6 and everyone from the violent to the tourists turned around and left on their own accord before the sun began to set.

Except for the fact that MAGA thinks that all vandals and those guilty of criminal mischief deserve “prison,” but those who assaulted police officers on J6 and committed acts of violence against humans and the United States Constitution deserve only “prosecution,” and then, apparently, a pardon.

Exactly.  Back the Blue.  Until it’s more convenient to hit them with a fire extinguisher.

Insurrection suggests there was a plot to violently overthrow the government.

The "Stop the Steal" event was designed to protest voter fraud (whether you believe it existed or not).  The majority of people were there hoping they could speak before Congress and convince the lawmakers to delay (not completely stop) certifying the election, until their concerns about fraud were fully investigated and addressed.  Video has shown that things started very peaceful.  Before the riot broke out, crowds were even let into the capital by security, where the people casually walked in single-file lines, smiling and snapping photos on their phones.

Obviously things got violent and out of control.  Which is unacceptable, and people deservedly went to prison for it.  That doesn't mean it was originally intended to be that way.  Nor does it mean that everyone who was there should have been punished.  If the protesters had been planning all along to go into the capital, kill a bunch of politicians and hang Mike Pence on the steps (as many are suggesting), they would clearly have been armed.  The fact they just grabbed or used items around them, should tell you it wasn't planned in advance.  And you wouldn't have seen grandmas with signs shuffling around beforehand, taking pictures like tourists.

Disrupting the peaceful transition of power is also a pretty broad statement.  Lots of candidates protest the elections they lose, and accuse the other side of cheating.  Hillary Clinton and the Democrats did so four years earlier.  Here is a link from NBC (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/despite-objections-congress-certifies-donald-trump-s-election-n704026) about the certification, showing how many blamed Russian interference and voter suppression for losing the 2016 election.  Here is another link from CNN (https://www.cnn.com/2017/01/19/politics/trump-inauguration-protests-womens-march/index.html) showing the riots and protests that happened on inauguration day when Trump was being sworn in.

That was more of an issue of competence.  Insurrectionists tried to set stuff on fire, but couldn’t do it.

Anyone else think it’s a little bizarre that several government officials are going out of their way to defend Tesla/push the Tesla stock/sell Tesla cars?

Looks like I was right!  The conversation was not over.

You keep coming back for more, which is surprising because you have nothing.  You’re a J6 supporter, which is sad.  Also, maybe you should get a job so you aren’t watching TV during the day.  Just another queen on the government dole, it seems.

You can end the conversation anytime by admitting that you are trolling.

There is a concept in jobs called vacation time. I take it during March Madness every year.  The fact that you would default to not having a job as the reason why someone is posting on noon during a weekday is a projection on your part (BTW why are you posting now then?) Also, before you say "WHY U pOsT If U WaTcHiN GaMe?" I posted this from my mobile device while, maybe one day when you have your own job, you can get a device where you can do that to.

I don't support J6, that is a weak assumption that only someone with an IQ under 90 or a fully brainwashed person would come to unless you are just trolling.

At least the other far lefties  like the doc and tibs have some substance and actually believe what they post, you are just a sad and bored little boy with no opinion of your own.

Give me a break. Talk about historical whitewashing.  Stop the Steal had nothing to do with widespread voter fraud and instead was borne of the fragile ego of Donald Trump.  Nothing more nothing less.  And before you travel too far down the “whataboutism” road, Hillary (to her credit) had a presser within days of the 2016 election and said, almost verbatim, “Donald Trump is our next president and we must accept that.”

Stop the Steal was itself an attempt to steal an election.  It was BS then and BS now.  Instead of investigating J6 commission members, one would think that the “Stop the Steal” issue would be the subject of additional review.  But it’s not.  Because it’s all a lie.

Nonsense.

Suggesting that vandalism is not a proper response is not pumping a stock.

This entire action against Tesla is disgusting.

Don't like the product? Don't buy it.

Do intentional damage? Go to jail

I think it's amazing Tim Walz is celebrating the stock tanking when so much of Minnesota's pension funds have Tesla stock.

You obviously missed the economics official (forgot his name?) that said in an interview telling people to buy tesla stock. Which is illegal by the way, and he owns tesla stock.

But I agree with the rest. Burning teslas is dumb. If they catch them arrest them I hope they do time.

Tesla is sinking on its own, no need to burn them anyway.

The peaceful transition of power didn't happen on 1/6/21. And it shouldn't have because it wasn't scheduled to happen that day. Trump was POTUS on that day, the day after and the day after that.

The peaceful transition of power happened on 1/20/21, just as scheduled.
