Go yell at the Eagles for gifting Barkley another contract right after he signed the first one. THAT was dumb. Watson's contract, at this point, is a pimple on the NFL's rump, as QB contracts quickly and steadily eclipsed it. Watson' average salary isn't even top 10 for QBs. No, those contracts were nowhere near the level of the Browns who basically destroyed the market twice. Both the Bills and Eagles were within range of what would be considered to be fair based on the player and the previous contract high at their position. Browns literally took the market and obliterated it. Edited yesterday at 02:07 PM by Big Turk Quote

He’s getting $27.5M AAV over the next two seasons and he is comfortably in the top 10 of NFL Edge players. there is nothing wrong with Hunter’s extension and he’ll be off the books when they have to allocate a lot of cap space to Anderson. I agree, Danielle Hunter is a very good pass rusher, as well as an above average romance novelist. 1 Quote

Haslam is the dumbest owner for sure (and that's saying something in this league), but if Watson was not a moldering previous flash in the pan when they gave him that contract (let's say he was Josh Allen they were signing), the full guarantee would not have been so shocking. 1 hour ago, Big Turk said: No, those contracts were nowhere near the level of the Browns who basically destroyed the market twice. Exactly, so the Watson contract had no impact on future QB contracts (far better QBs have been re-signed for far more--none of them fully guaranteed though). Barkley signed a fair contract with the Eagles before last season. He didn't ask for, but got a lot more, after the season. That's dumb. Browns "obliterated the market"? Garrett's guarantee at signing is #4 for current D-lineman contracts. His total contract value is #2 (Nick Bosa is #1 in both categories). He is #1 in average annual--only 4.5 million ahead of Bosa. No team would have offered him less than Nick Bosa.... What else you got? Quote
