I would add, from my perspective the players could do some more to raise their stature too. There is some good talent on this team and a lot of players have shined for moments only to regress. Ed Oliver shows it at times but not nearly enough. McDermott has his family culture and that's great, but I think some of the coaches need to get these guys to bring a little more meanness to their game. A little more attitude. I'm thinking of Spencer Brown as an example. A little of Spencer Brown's attitude in Dalton Kincaid would do a lot for his game IMO. Yeah, they don't make em like they used to. Rule changes and such have wussified this league. I want the clothesline back.....with an arm cast. Quote

They can't get to the Titans, Browns, Giants, Jags picks. No team in the top 5 has a reason to drop down to #30. To do that the Bills would have to be willing to do it in two deals.... and they just don't have the capital. And in this draft I am not that fussed about getting to #11 or #14. I don't think the talent differential is that big between #11 and #30. There are max 5 or 6 blie chippers in this class. 1 1 Quote

The Titans could go Hunter since they got 33? That sends Ward to the Browns, Sanders to the rotten apple and Tet or a LT to the Pats. Here's the chance to get the next Bruce. If it sounds outrageous so be it. 2 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: They can't get to the Titans, Browns, Giants, Jags picks. No team in the top 5 has a reason to drop down to #30. If you think the Giants aren’t in the arch Manning sweepstakes, you’re lying to yourself. The Eagles commanders and Cowboys are in their division. the saints have ties to the Manning family their team is old and no cap space a boatload of pics will help infuse some youth into that team. The Jaguars have a new GM and new GM’s want their own players. We could have the best DT or CB or WR probably with the Saints pick. 2 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: Carter won't get to #5. I think people underestimate a new GM always overturns the roster and instill their own people in place you need a lot of pics to do that fast. We need one more super talented piece to dominate the league. Quote

What you are talking about is a nice idea but it is next to impossible. The Giants are not tanking. They probably should be. But the owner has told the GM and Coach it is "win or else" in 2025. With that ultimatum there is zero chance they drop to #30. Even if they were trying to stack picks for next year.... the Bills are gonna have a late 1st. That doesn't help a ton. I agree we need a blue chipper. But there are very few of them in this draft (at least in terms of sure things) and we have no chance to get one. Edited 23 hours ago by GunnerBill 1 1 Quote

Don't know if you have ever seen the Rich Hill Draft Trade Chart. You might want to take a look if you want to talk draft trades. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart-Rich-Hill.asp?RequestTeam=jax Quote

The head coach is a sacrificial lamb. everybody knows he doesn’t have a chance to win this year. He will collect his millions and move onto a coordinator position. There is a head coach in the same situation every year. The patriots and Raiders just fired their head coach after one year and they were sacrificial lambs. They didn’t have a legitimate chance to win with those rosters. Quote

Cleveland acquired him last year for just a 5th and a 6th. They then signed him to an extension for just $17.5M AAV which now looks paltry compared to the WR market. He went on to collect over 1,200 receiving yards while playing with maybe the worst QB situation in the NFL. I continue to be dismayed by Beane's failure to properly invest in weapons for Allen. Opportunities have been there but he hasn't jumped on them. I don't think it's Beane, but rather the philosophy they adhere to now. Because a team that does so little from the 2021 to 2024 off-seasons is more than something the GM has decided - it's an evident trend. And I suspect they are so enamored with this run-pass balance everybody eats nonsense which is convenient because WR's cost more and they've largely gone away from paying anyone big money. Their defense costs too much to maintain and something has to give. Quote
