The hype train and various opinions from talking heads are out there.

What are your thoughts to a couple of very simple poll questions?

For me, the ped suspensions are huge as is Bosa’s health.  Big if’s - the resignings so far make sense but I would love to see Benford locked up on a team friendly deal (seems less and less likely).

The only saving thing is dealing with our own. HOWEVER  FA .....which is basically now history..... BLEW

Outside of the PEDs suspensions it’s been steps in the correct direction, now the draft…,

If we ever draft some guys that can actually shine in their rookie years (which seems to be the exception on our team), we could have an amazing roster

Maybe the PEDs thing is divine intervention. Force us to draft a young core and play them.

right now I feel we are at status quo. We need the draft to pay dividends and Beane / McD have to make solid / great picks to put us where we want to be. We need cost controlled rookies who can start or earn significant playing time.

Suspensions are ridiculous - very frustrating to even have 1, but 2 on the same freaking day!!?? Give me a break.

So I would say "incomplete" until we see the draft haul...

Draft 3 players that can come in and are ready PLAY week 1 (DL, CB, WR), and draft a couple more for high-end depth. I'd be fine if they use 10 picks to move up and get their best 5.

Nail the draft and I'll give it an excellent rating, despite the ridiculous suspensions.

For how much extra cap space we supposedly had this season, this team doesn't feel markedly improved from last season which is a bit of a disappointment in my eyes.   Yeah, we have the draft yet, but so do 31 other teams.

The PED stuff is obviously unfortunate, but I like that they are maybe looking to some fresh approaches to things. I wonder how they plan to use Hoecht and what the new coaches will bring to the table. It’s not just players, we’ve hopefully improved the coaching staff as well as strength and conditioning.

They’ll probably wind up being even or slightly improved, but the state of the secondary makes them worse off as of today. Lotta off-season left to go though.

Dane Jackson is better than Elam, and he might be on par with Douglas from the 2nd half of the season. So, it isn't ideal, but Jackson does provide a floor for the position, at least. With some draft picks and more veteran signings, I'm sure the group will be fine.

I get what you’re saying, but Dane Jackson is a JAG. Elam is a bust so, yes, I’d rather have Dane too. But even last season Douglas was better than a JAG - even if only by a little by the end. Also I’m comparing the current Bills team to the one at the start of 2025 when he was better. I’m not sure how much of Douglas’ fall off was age versus injury, but injuries happen every season. Moving on from Douglas does seem the right path forward unless he’s cheap and we’re desperate. Hoping for a solid move to be made at CB soon. And we could use an upgrade at S as well.

The best thing was negotiating to keep some of our young talent.  I don’t think it was a particularly great FA year.  I think Palmer will fit well.  The guys we added to the D line should help but the suspensions are a black mark for Beane.  Bosa will be the best FA add if he can stall healthy.

Offense -

QB - same

RB - same

WR - worse

TE - same

OL - same

Defense

DL - better

CBs - same to worse

LBs - same

S - same

ST - same/who cares

Worse WR's, better DL and same to worse CB's has me feeling like it was a treading water offseason.

1. Acceptable - they addressed the d-line like we hoped, WR addition has been made at an area they did not have that player, and the cap is open for additional moves.

2. Same Team- As of right now feels like the same roster to me until we see it in person. Maybe the defensive line is better but would need to see it in action before I say it is a massive improvement. I honestly think the draft and later FA addition in summer may add more wrinkles that improve the roster. The threshold to improve on offense is minimal, it is the defense where you hope the improvement is pronounced.

How can it be acceptable to remain the same? The team has not been good enough, and remaining the same should not be acceptable.
