I hope he can stay healthy all year, especially if this is his final year. Im with you Royale. I’ve loved that guy since the beginning. He was by far the most impactful defensive player we’ve had the last several years. He’s made so many impactful plays over the years. I hope he has a great year, and then maybe he will get to the Wall. He’ll never make the HOF, but he may get the Wall. To Milano, thanks for all of you’re years here. 1 Quote

ProcessTruster Posted yesterday at 11:51 AM Posted yesterday at 11:51 AM why would Milano agree to this? 1 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM 3 minutes ago, ProcessTruster said: why would Milano agree to this? My guess is that Beane suggested to his agent that Milano might be a cap casualty. This keeps him with the Bills. My other guess is that making it a one-year contract might be good for Milano if he still believes in himself. If he has a good year, he'll get a decent FA offer from someone. 1 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted yesterday at 12:19 PM Posted yesterday at 12:19 PM I do kind of wonder if the Matt Milano replacement is actually Terrell Bernard and we see Dorian Williams take over at MLB. Odds are probably low, but each player's physical skill set definitely translates better to the opposite LB position. 1 Quote

I'm not sure what you are asking/saying. My points are, Beane has to restructure current players just to get under the cap NOW. I am not expecting any more splash signings. He has to be under the cap now. Once the league year has begun you have to be under the cap at all times. Quote

Also, not all of these signing may be officially submitted to the league. Quote

It's well documented in the past that he is by and large a minimalist. Guy reportedly didn't even have a TV until a couple years back. For a guy like Milano being someplace he's comfortable, has friends and familiarity, knows he's going to be used in the right ways and will see meaningful reps on the field are worth more than money. Rare breed of not only player, but human being. But they do exist. 3 Quote

Like most have already said, this is probably his swan song as a Bill. Not out of the question they bring him back next year on a cheap deal, but feels unlikely now with Bernard locked up and Dorian here. Where did the dead cap go? Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted yesterday at 09:07 PM Posted yesterday at 09:07 PM 9 hours ago, ProcessTruster said: why would Milano agree to this? Truth? Milano isn't anywhere near the probowl Milano any longer. He is 30, many injuries and as others said, take a cut or be cut. I guarantee he wouldn't get what he is currently making on the open market. So take a cut, stay with one of the best run organizations in football, maybe stay healthy and get one more payday with somone else next year. Quote

Love Matt but hard to play as physical as he does well into the 30s. Too soon to say…. wall of fame candidate? On 3/18/2025 at 10:03 AM, Low Positive said: No. He did it well enough, but he didn't do it long enough. I mean, he did have 6 really good or great seasons before the last 2 being ruined by injuries. We had Takeo Spikes as a "Legend of the Game" last year, and he only had 2 healthy seasons with Buffalo. If Matt can have a bounce-back year & play like he used to, I'd say 7 good seasons is worth consideration. But for now, I also lean "no" on the WOF thing. 1 Quote

I just don’t see any team paying him any significant amount of money right now. At least he gets an extra year for another SB run and another chance to show he still has stuff in the tank. Quote
