He knows he would end up with less money if released so he agreed. - Milano feels like he has a better chance next offseason at one last good deal than two off seasons from now. He swapped a year shorter contract for $3m. He’s feeling healthy and betting on balling out, hoping for one last payday. Probably the first one, but I hope for the second one. I kind of agree. I don't think the Bills told Milano he would be released. I think him and his agent suspected that and talks opened up about the 2nd scenario. It's a good deal for both parties. I don't think Milano wants to retire, so now he's free to sign. Quote

How can there be a dead cap hit after the contract ends? They already had paid out a signing bonus so I think that amount will still be applied 1 Quote

ColoradoBills Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM Posted yesterday at 04:38 PM Bills on Spotrac are $9.7M under the cap with Bosa, Gilliam, Green Jackson, Johnson, Ogunjobi and Shenault still not accounted for. I still see at least one more restructure needed to get under the cap. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/_/year/2025 1 Quote

Von and Samuel were the others. Good deal for both sides. Bills get back a bit of money with Milano having the ability to get it back if healthy and possibly test FA after next year. 2 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted yesterday at 04:39 PM Posted yesterday at 04:39 PM It’s interesting because Milanos contract was very cuttable after this season. Wouldn’t have been so much this offseason. Doesn’t make sense from Milanos side unless he has told the Bills this will be his last year playing and he is helping out the Bills salary cap now and in the future. We have Williams waiting in the wings but now we’re gonna need someone for serious depth Quote

How can there be a dead cap hit after the contract ends? There are several ways......void years is one way, redoing like this case is another. Rasul Douglas, Austin Johnson, Smoot, Valdes Scantlin are some of the 2025 dead cap. Quote

BuffaloRebound Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM If Milano is taking a paycut, not sure how Knox isn’t next. $10m is a huge over-pay for Knox’s production. Quote

When it comes to "cap space", draft picks only add about $2.5M in cap. There could be more than one more restructure. Then again, at the end of summer a DQ Jones cut would clear enough for the other stuff. Lots of options. 1 Quote

By the end of summer, they will need to open enough cap for those needs. I'm not sure what you are asking/saying. My points are, Beane has to restructure current players just to get under the cap NOW. I am not expecting any more splash signings. Quote
Pete Posted yesterday at 05:20 PM Posted yesterday at 05:20 PM Bills need to get Dorian Williams into starting lineup. He is too good to be on the bench. Dorian seems to be on another speed. We need playmakers. Terrel, Matt, and Dorian all are. Only 2 get snaps. Beane and Sean want to get younger, faster, play making, D players 2 Quote

If he has a good year, he'll cash in with the Bills or somewhere else with a nice FA contract despite his age. It's a big gamble. If he has a disappointing, injury-plagued season, there won't be much of a market. Have to assume the Bills played hardball with him about releasing him, otherwise that is a big gamble Quote

We are more than 9 mill under so the draft picks are fine, and you are correct sir, we only need about 2.5 mill or so picking where we do. 1 Quote

This, but also Milano's wardrobe is like ten white tees, a few plain balls caps, and black jeans. Unlike many NFL players who end up destitute five years after retiring, I have a feeling Milano's going to be just fine with the nest egg he's built. 1 Quote

Kelly to Allen Posted yesterday at 05:48 PM Posted yesterday at 05:48 PM This explains why they've been scouting Chris Paul Jr from Ole Miss a lot ...he's a really good linebacker prospect that's definitely going to be a possibility within their first four to five selections in my opinion This is such a good draft to retool the entire defense Quote

His rookie season he looked like an unguided missile, flying around, but often out of position. I was impressed with his improvement, and hope to see him build off of that to get even better. Quote
