Feels like an early retirement announcement. Love Matt but hard to play as physical as he does well into the 30s.

Too soon to say…. wall of fame candidate?

No. He did it well enough, but he didn't do it long enough.

I always appreciate when veteran players take pay cuts to help the team.

To echo others, I have to think this is likely his last year in a Bills jersey. Dorian Williams and Terrel Bernard appear to be the linebacker duo of the future.

Milano's been a hell of a player for us. Here's hoping he stays healthy all season and ends his Bills career by helping to bring home a Lombardi.

Let’s say Milano has the game sealing FF and FR touchdown in the Super Bowl this year. Does he get on the wall then?

one of those things that was coming eventually.  makes sense to do it now.  hope Matt plays lights out this season regardless of the future,  stays injury free.

I'm wondering what kind of dead cap hit the Bills take next year.

Right now it's $11M with Milano's current contract.

Did Milano have to agree to this?

I thought he had a pretty high cap hit if released so I'm wondering if this was a if we don't do this we gotta release ya situation

For this much of a change he would have to agree with it.

It sounds to me like Milano's betting on himself.  If he has a good year, he'll cash in with the Bills or somewhere else with a nice FA contract despite his age.

It's a big gamble.  If he has a disappointing, injury-plagued season, there won't be much of a market.

Kinda looks like he agreed to a new contract??

In theory, that would be the best for the Bills.

A rework of the Knox contract would be something.  I know, I'm greedy.  LOL.
