BigDingus Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Well, that sucks... I was hoping they'd continue to penny pinch & find themselves in another Carson Palmer situation with Burrow. But since they signed 2 of the 3 big names, he's sticking around. Now if only Beane could find a way to get Josh some good WRs... We found a good RB, but apparently nobody wants to pay him. Quote

Go all in on impact players and hope you draft / find cheap vets to fill the gaps. Think of all the zero-impact players Beane wastes $ on. I'd rather have Higgins than Roussea + Ogonjubi. I'd rather have Chase than Shakir + Palmer + Hoecht + Bosa. We have an OL. They do not. They keep trying to solve that problem via FA and the draft and keep failing. The best thing that Brandon Beane has done as Bills GM is to solve the OL issues. 2 Quote
stevestojan Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago They’re both suspended for the first six games though, right? That’s how this works? Quote

Doc Brown Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Higgins would've gotten more on the open market. 1 hour ago, Process said: I may be in the minority (and I am not even convinced I truly believe this) but this is bad team building, IMO. An elite QB shouldn't need a $70M/year WR duo. Should have extended Chase, traded Tee, and spent the money and draft pocks on defense/ o line. They were a year too late on both of them imo. If the Bengals got the Chase deal done before Jefferson it would pry be about $32m per year and for Higgins it would've been about $21m per year. 2 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) I don't get ppl thinking this is bad. The Bengals are as dangerous as anyone with chase and Higgins. If they have a good draft they'll improve on defense and contend Edited 19 hours ago by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote

I’m in the further minority because I’m not giving any one WR $40M/yr. I don’t care who it is. I’d rather trade Chase for a bounty and fortify both lines of scrimmage. Quote
Mikie2times Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Burrow is the best pure passer in the NFL and has arguably the best WR unit. I don’t particularly love this. It isn’t impossible to build a half competent defense thru the draft and that’s about all they will need to be a very hard out. 3 1 Quote

Can you build an OL and a secondary in a single draft? 1 Quote

hondo in seattle Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago The Bengals have insider knowledge that the NFL, out of concern for player safety (and the associated legal liability), is moving to a 7 v. 7 flag football format. 1 Quote

Sam Darnold was just in the MVP conversation because of a $40M WR. The position is THAT critical. I don't blame Cincy for this at all. They're doing what it takes to keep their elite talent around. They have to start drafting better for sure but it's not like free agency is usually brimming with top tier OL and defensive talent. I mean the Chiefs just paid a backup LT $15M AAV to come start for them... Cincy isn't missing out on anything by just paying their own players. 1 3 Quote

But they have a salary floor to meet and they aren’t stupid. They’re looking at getting a new stadium so they’re going to try to make the fans happy with some popular moves. They may even make a push to try to get a championship - or at least get close to one - while they’re trying to get their new stadium. Edited 18 hours ago by BarleyNY Quote

The Vikings had enough on defense to have balance because they were not paying a QB and the #2 was on a rookie deal. Edited 18 hours ago by Low Positive 1 Quote
