4th&long Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Good. With what they pay burrow they will never be able to field a complete team again. 1 Quote

Yeah, and since football is only a three-person game, the Bengals will doubtless win every Super Bowl out there. Oh, wait, you mean there are more than three on the field? Josh isn't taking Shakir and Palmer. He's taking the whole roster. Which is superior to the Bengals. The Bengals had Chase and Higgins last year. How many playoff games did they win? 1 1 Quote

I thought they were pretty classy about the Hamlin situation and if they didn’t beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game a few years ago…. The Chiefs would have tied the Bills Super Bowl consecutive appearance record Because tomorrow when they’re asked about paying 3 guys this much money to the cap bc Burrow isn’t elite without his 2 elite WRs and Chase’s ridiculous YAC ability they’re going to say something along the lines of “we can’t be stopped so good luck.” As they come off a year of not making the playoffs bc they lost to New England. Nothing about them is likable. 1 1 Quote

Low Positive Posted March 17 Posted March 17 For those that don't hate Joe Burrow more than any other player in the league, watch this. You probably turned off the game before this. He said this crap in our house: 1 1 Quote

Likely gonna have to just draft mostly defense try to get a bunch of cheap young defenders and if you can hit on 3-4 starters maybe you can cobble together a decent defense. 1 Quote

Greg S Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Do the Bengals not realize that defense is also a part of the game. 1 Quote

Joe Burrow demanded, in both the national and local media, that the team pay both of his weapons. The thing that nobody wants to talk about in the NFL is that the great Joe Burrow needs two #1 WRs to play well. He doesn't elevate the players, they elevate him. I mean, former bust Sam Darnold had 4,339 yards and 35 TDs with two #1 WRs. But Minnesota Wisely decided not to pay him because they know that the WRs elevated him, and not the other way around. Joe Burrow is an entitled rich boy who is the most unlikable player in the league. Learn to hate him. 2 2 1 2 2 Quote

If I remember correctly I think it was Cincy that knocked us out the playoffs just a few years ago. Joe has been to the SB. Our guy hasn’t. Edited March 17 by BillMafia716ix 1 1 1 2 Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I will say they are paying guys that you can better manage being healthy come playoff time No idea if this is a good idea, generally goes against how teams have historically been built Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Even with all these guys last year, the Bills (and 6 or 7 other teams) had higher scoring offenses. Serious question: does Joe burrow need two top-10 receivers to be good and for that team to score? 1 Quote

He lost the job at OSU to Dwayne Haskins. The general take is that this was a massive mistake by Urban Mayer. But maybe Joe Burrow has to have an all-pro team to be effective? 2 1 Quote
WeckMonster Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) I hate the Bengals, think their ownership is bush league... but I actually don't think this is a terrible decision. Go all in on impact players and hope you draft / find cheap vets to fill the gaps. Think of all the lesser-impact players Beane spends $ on. I'd rather have Higgins than Roussea + Ogonjubi. I'd rather have Chase than Shakir + Palmer + Hoecht + Bosa. Out of those guys Shakir is the only one above average. The rest are JAGs that you can pick up anywhere. Hope our signings are better than I'm expecting and I eat my words... Edited March 17 by WeckMonster 3 1 1 Quote
