Belichick didn't bring guys back? That's a wild take. Patrick Chung, Jamie Collins, Trey Flowers, Trent Brown, LaGarrette Blount.... and that is literally off the top of my head. Nobody let guys go then brought them back when they failed in other systems more than Bill.

I would trade him for a first in a nano second. As good as he is probably top 10 in the league. 2 major concussions is going to make him play differently especially with contact and tackling. 
 

I believe we can find a solid replacement cheaper and maybe more durable with a first also it would

most likely be a mid first round pick which is even better with this draft.

I think Benford loses some dollar value on the open market due to his history of concussion. I'm not saying there won't be interest in him, just saying he will draw less money than he would have otherwise.

 

Once concussed, you're likely to get concussion again. Look at Mitch Morse who was a frequent flyer on the concussion protocol.

I think the concussion concern on Benford is valid and a good reminder of how quickly things can go south for these players.
I’m surprised it isn’t talked about more but Taron Johnson has had 5 concussions documented in his career and I’m not sure how he cleared the protocol in the playoffs from that last helmet to helmet hit he took (I think they deemed it shoulder/neck). With his size and the way he plays physical against backs, TE’s, lineman … I wonder how much longer Taron can hold up for 17+ game seasons as well.

Really good player, wish he could have played longer. That one always bothered me with the cheap shot.

A.)  If Metcalf only produced a 2nd than I doubt the Bills could do any better than a 2nd.  Teams know they'd have to pay him a top of the market deal.

B.)  As long as it isn't the Chiefs.

Glad you agree his value is upper tier. And he is fully on board with the Bills defensive program. So I keep him and add to him.

But your point is certainly valid if traded for a first to a needy team. Move up 15 and I would be a good if I didnt take that trade offer.
