billsfan89 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago What an odd situation. Makes drafting a couple of D-Line players early a priority. 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) The fact that Brandon Beane knew ahead of time that Hotech was going to be suspended and yet they signed him anyway tells me they're definitely going dline early and often in the draft.... Again it wouldn't shock me if they draft up to 4 dlineman in this deep class. Same with corner 3 minutes ago, RichRiderBills said: That really pushes the off season to a total head scratcher. Supposedly knew about Hoecht . Why!? Total D- now. Because the talent in the draft is outstanding on the dline and they plan on drafting multiple dlineman Edited 5 hours ago by Kelly to Allen 1 1 Quote
4BillsintheBurgh Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Pretty extreme way to make sure they're healthy for the playoffs. Yay? 2 6 Quote

I'm pretty sure the PED suspension length is set in stone in the CBA. They could potentially challenge the failed drug test and if they win the entire suspension would be vacated. I don't think players ever win those challenges though. Quote
jkeerie Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Beane is talking now. He said that Ogunjobi just found out the other day and immediately contacted Beane. He said that because the market had been depleted and the fact that neither player had ever had any issues of this nature in the past, they decided to move forward. Quote
stevestojan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago so both of them are guaranteed to be healthy 7 weeks into the season? True 4D chess by Beane right there. 1 10 Quote
HappyDays Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Ogunjobi at least wasn't their fault. Why wouldn't the NFL make it a point to lay these suspensions out before FA starts? 6 1 Quote
sven233 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago So they knew this was happening with Hoecht and signed him anyway. They found out that it was happening with Ogunjobi before he signed and they still signed him anyway. Obviously, they really like both players, but this really leaves us short handed for the first 6 games as of now. I think many of us though these signings would keep us away from Edge and DT in the first round anyway, but that isn't the case anymore. I definitely think it is back to being BPA at DT, Edge, and CB. I do wonder if this affects the contracts in any way, especially Ogunjobi who they just found out about. Quote

Chandler#81 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Way to pick ‘em, Beane. Not one but TWO druggies in our FA selections. 🤦♂️ 1 1 Quote

Not only the suspension, but also like ok....do you suck, if not for PEDs? Yep. Out for 6 games and shells of their PED enhanced selves on the field after that. Quote
davefan66 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) So, we sign these guys because they play well. Is it because of the PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS??? Nice. I wouldn’t have signed the dude he knew was going to be suspended. If it’s 6 games, is that a repeat offender?? EDIT And Hoecht is being introduced now… Just got the text from the Bills. I hope he gets hammered. Edited 5 hours ago by davefan66 2 Quote

This is a huge failure on his part. Now we know why Jones and AJE are still on the team, but this is a pretty big black eye for the organization. Beane in his presser said that Ogunjobi had just found out (they don't even have the results of his B sample yet). He said because neither player has a history of issues and the market of other players had been depleted by signings, they decided to move forward with both players anyway. 1 Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Suddenly, Dane Jackson isn't gonna quite cut it anymore cause CB is gonna have to wait in the draft now. 1 Quote
MJS Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Interesting. Whatever. It is the postseason that we really need to have everyone available for. Quote
