The fact that Brandon Beane knew ahead of time that  Hotech was going to be suspended and yet they signed him anyway tells me they're definitely going dline early and often in the draft....

 

Again it wouldn't shock me if they draft up to 4 dlineman in this deep class.

Because the talent in the draft is outstanding on the dline and they plan on drafting multiple dlineman

I'm pretty sure the PED suspension length is set in stone in the CBA. They could potentially challenge the failed drug test and if they win the entire suspension would be vacated. I don't think players ever win those challenges though.

Beane is talking now.  He said that Ogunjobi just found out the other day and immediately contacted Beane.  He said that because the market had been depleted and the fact that neither player had ever had any issues of this nature in the past, they decided to move forward.

Ogunjobi at least wasn't their fault. Why wouldn't the NFL make it a point to lay these suspensions out before FA starts?

So they knew this was happening with Hoecht and signed him anyway.

 

They found out that it was happening with Ogunjobi before he signed and they still signed him anyway.

 

Obviously, they really like both players, but this really leaves us short handed for the first 6 games as of now.  I think many of us though these signings would keep us away from Edge and DT in the first round anyway, but that isn't the case anymore.  I definitely think it is back to being BPA at DT, Edge, and CB.

 

I do wonder if this affects the contracts in any way, especially Ogunjobi who they just found out about.
