Can everyone relax!? I don’t find the suspensions to be catastrophic like some ppl are acting. It sucks, but It’s also funny to me. So Billsy. Them getting popped doesn’t make them bad guys or bad players or locker room cancers. 
 

But in the end we’ll get two players back rested and healthy for the 2nd half of the season, prepped and assimilated by playoff time. The situation is still just so Billsy. It made me laugh.

This is the dline I can see opening day. With 3 stud rookies and Solomon and Green giving bosa and Rousseau a breather.

Silver lining is we roster an additional DE and DT likely from a later round selection and see if they bring any juice in live game action. 
 

Maybe one will stick? 
 

Just trying to find the good here. Although I am not too worried about it. Last year we went through stretches without Smoot Von and Carter. It isn’t ideal, but maybe the door will be opened for someone to step up that would have otherwise not been given an opportunity.

Posters still missing the point that we get to "recoup" salary cap.

 

Might not be a big deal on Hoecht.

 

But for Larry, who everyone seems to be jumping down Beanes back about.  1 year deals are actually perfect to get this situation to apply to.

 

1. We essentially just pay/count against cap, the remaining 11 games. 

 

2. Larry's savings alone, likely counts for very close to savings generated from cutting Daquon.  So if we needed the $$$, and Daquon was on the chopping block, we get to hold onto him now.

 

3. Only way the math doesn't work out this "clean", is dependent on void years that were added to Larry's deal (impacting a pro rated signing bonus)

 

As long as we stay out of injury issues thru week 6, this is essentially the same as signing Larry at week 7 from a cap perspective.

 

Plan all along was to get better at DL and secondary, via draft. Plan is still the plan.  We likely hold onto Daquon now, because of this, and someone like Solomon or Kingsley or Logue makes the initial 53.

I agree.  Listening to the pressers today.  These are not bad guys who tried to beat the system.  Both acknowledge that it is their responsibility to know what they are putting in their bodies and that they failed in that area.  That is why they are not appealing the suspensions and are taking their punishment.

 

Listening to Beane, based on their prior records he had no reason to doubt their sincerity and move forward.

this is really embarrassing, nothing like tainting the image of your entire franchise with two dopes who have never even taken a snap for you yet.

Nice lineup and love those picks (though not sure any of those will fall to us where we would be looking to draft them), just wondering who gets cut when the 2 PED boys come back? 12 Dlineman isn't happening.  I suppose potential injuries in those first 6 games could be the answer

Oh I definitely agree. I'm hoping he is there.

 

But there's a ton of good options 

 

I love Jaden Ivey, Josiah Stewart, Scrouton, Pearce, Burch, Landon Jackson, and that's just de.

 

Darius Alexander is another awesome prospect that can play de/DT for us and would love at 30.

Maybe this was already answered but my biggest question is did the contract stay the same? It was 1 year $10 mil before knowing about the 6 game suspension so was it lowered after finding out?

I don't know if the actual contract was lowered, but the guarantees are voided now and they are 1/3 of the cap price for 2025. That's what Greg from cover 1 said....

 

So they have a little more room for another fa

 

It's really not that bad of a deal 

 

Now obviously if they don't go dlineman early and often I'm going to be very upset

I’ll be more upset if they don’t go WR early and often but I do think D line and WR will be prioritized.

If only these guys had grown up watching 21 jumpstreet like I did.  They would know steroids/ped’s/supplements are bad for you.

 

it really sucks that two players did this while playing for two other teams and now the bills are being punished.  The rams and Steelers benefitted from these players doing this and now the bills get the punishment.

This is an all-time botch by Beane.  They knew Hoecht was suspended and signed him to a moderate deal.  Then they honored the Ogunjobe signing after realizing he’d be suspended for 6 weeks.
