GolfandBills Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) This is unfortunate… Beane hasn’t done a good job at all with this DL. Two new additions now not available till week 7. Edited March 15 by GolfandBills 1 2 1 Quote

stevestojan Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) I’m no GM, but I think my questions might be: 1) is he good at football. 2) Will he accept our offer. 3) is he set to miss nearly half the ***** season for an upcoming suspension? 4) how’s his bench press? Maybe stop skipping Question 3, Brando. Edited March 15 by stevestojan 1 3 Quote

If you took the time to read what I was replying to, you would understand the context of what I was saying. I understood the context perfectly fine. You're trying to say they aren't going to necessarily have a performance dropoff from stopping PEDs. Kind of defeats the purpose and risk of using them if there's no performance boost. It's only logical that if you stop, you lose that. Quote
Aussie Joe Posted March 15 Posted March 15 So who thinks Jordan Phillips is likely back for the first 6 weeks to fill in for Larry? 1 1 Quote

I’m sure they had plans especially for Hoecht and moving him around. This just puts a huge delay on that. It won’t be plug in play soon as they are back. 2 minutes ago, Aussie Joe said: So who thinks Jordan Phillips is likely back for the first 6 weeks to fill in for Larry? DrPJax Posted March 15 Posted March 15 3 hours ago, GASabresIUFan said: I like Beane, but wouldn’t he have had to know this was coming before signing these guys? This is a huge failure on his part. Now we know why Jones and AJE are still on the team, but this is a pretty big black eye for the organization. One is bad enough but two players suspended in the one area , d line, you have repeatedly made mistakes with in both wasted draft capital and free agency failures is just unforgivable imo. Thats a third of the season , enough time with our schedule to once again lose a game or two costing the 1 seed. It’s just laughable how many mistakes this staff has made along the d line , an area that has definitely cost us games and playoff losses in the past. Plus these guys are new to the team , slowing chemistry and learning mcds so called complex d which also slows integration into the rotation. I also think ped use is either a discipline or intelligence issue given the long knowledge base these vets have been exposed too and suggests they are also a risk for further injuries as something obviously wasn’t progressing for them to chance this. Seems a contradiction to the type of player dogma Beane / McD are always preaching. Its just another self inflicted set of issues for non superstar type players that is another example of lack of attention to detail that goes along with this regimes inability to solve the d line talent issue for their entire tenure. You hear about teams with one guy getting suspended yearly , but TWO free agents in the biggest area you were trying to really improve , is just borderline incompetence to me. Sorry ,,but if I had a business where multiple people were failing drug tests , that’s a failure in management and I would be replacing supervisory positions. Would you be ok with multiple employees missing a third of the work year after paying them prior to any production? Little things matter in such a competitive league and it’s things like this that make you wonder if this regime is capable of performing at a high enough level to ever build a true SB winning team. They definitely don’t give the impression that they could build a multiple winning dynasty type run like the chiefs, pats , or even at the level of the Eagles. I don’t know if it’s good to minimize errors like this or rationalize it by saying they will be fresh late in the season. It’s ignoring 6 games of 0 production after just complaining about low production from epenesa , miller , and the prior unproductive lineman Beane has signed. I’m just getting less impressed with him as time passes; prove me wrong and win a SB. Add the cb 2 questions , still not getting a quality possible wr 1 for your mvp qb , and i just see Allen’s time here being squandered. Just inexcusable mistakes for such a great gm , who seems more likable than productive. 2 Quote

Unless your signing him on league Min, then you stay away. Beane gives him huge money for his production. It's a matter of perspective, of fairly weighing the good vs the bad, and of "glass half full" vs "glass half empty" outlooks. He's done great things with winning the AFC East every season and being a playoff team each season. Most other teams would love that success. The other side is the goal is a Super Bowl 2 Quote

We were never getting Myles Garrett.
